I'm in love, uh, with the knife. That is awesome.

Yes. I was not suggesting that it was a copy of an earlier design. But it is certainly in that tradition, with impoved materials and construction that we expect from Busse Combat. I like the double cut finish better, too. That Gemini looks to have about a 7" blade.

And that one (Old Western) was a close copy of the USMC Fighting knife that the Marines designed, EX: K-Bar. :D

I am Bias because I was in the USMC and you know how stubborn and bull headed we can be. ;) :D

The name "KA-BAR" came to be after the company received a poorly written English letter in which the author wrote how the company's knife saved his life after he was attacked by a bear and his gun failed to kill it. All that was legible was "k a bar", and the company adopted that as their trademark. [6] In 1942, soon after the United States' entry into World War II, American troops experienced the problematic nature of the M1917/1918 and Mark I trench knives that they were issued initially and, realizing the need for knives suited to trench warfare, a design was chosen from a catalog of hunting gear. The Marines bought many different knives and designs from a large number of suppliers during World War II, but it was the KA-BAR fighting knife that was most common and popular. It was chosen for continued purchase and issue after the war was over. The final shape was decided upon by the Marine Corps. The changes included a slightly longer blade for combat use, introduction of a small fuller to make the blade lighter, and the pinned pommel and stacked leather handle as standard. In addition, the blade, guard, and pommel were all finished in a non-reflective matte black or gray phosphate finish instead of the brightly polished steel of the original.

Millions were made during World War II by KA-BAR, Ontario Knife Company, Camillus Cutlery, Case Knives, and several other knife companies. The knife is inexpensive, easy to replace, and adequate for most tasks. It was also used as a diving knife in World War II, though the model in use at the time disintegrated rapidly in saltwater. The various forms of this knife are still very popular with hunters, fishermen, hikers, outdoorsmen, and the U.S. military.[1]

With that DC finish and those scales, I'm guessing that the Gemini 7 will cost at least $400. It is a beauty.

Can't wait to try it out.
Does anyone know the blade length and thickness of this knife?

Love the finish/scales....like the design a lot too (although I am still "processing" the dual talon holes), for some reason it's the first knife that I immediately thought would look good with a CBT blade (or maybe double edged).

ah come on Jerry! Can't we get an E.G.A on this... maybe in USMC Mapat pattern cammo? or at least a Sempre Fi! ???
actually, I"m picturing it with that black G10 / green blade combo already :-)

The choil looks off to me, I'd bring the edge back a little closer to the handle. Not too much, just enough to smooth out the look.

Nah, probably make the choil too small.

Even though I am just an old man with no real need for them, combat knives appeal to me. I got the HG55LE, Chris Reeve Green Beret, SOG Bowie, Gerber Trident, and several others. Naturally, I have a collection of Ka-bars. This Team Gemini 7 looks like another fighter that I will have to add to my collection.

It would look sweet with sage, od green or tanker grey and magnum black machined micarta. A double cut or satin version would have to be north of $400.00 while a CG version could be in the neighborhood of the Skinny ASH and NMSFNO at around $327.00.

I really like it. Please let me buy one, (Jaxx won't beg, but I will).

PLEASE, PLEASE let me buy one.............

jerry, very nice classic design, no need in re-inventing the wheel, excellent job, will make a great all around blade. and hey it will match my killa-z as well.

I am amazed that we got to page four before anyone mentioned the choil. :D:rolleyes:
