Here's a TOPS knife I can really get on board with

I'm interested depending on price...this is a heavy knife month for me. Any chance we can get these for $49 if enough people are interested?

We can do a group buy on this. I'll need to check with Mike and see how much he'd want for some. Personally I'd prefer my steak knife to not have a coating on the blade.

Cool, thanks!

I think the purpose was for a non threatening looking knife. But I think this would make a really nice little bush blade. And the coatings are pretty easy to remove.

I'm in for at least one plain edge, and if Tops made a 'Special Edition', in Satin 1095 for BF WSS folks! Skip the coating, I'm with Sparks on my food wares...no coatings need be applied!

TOPS Knives

Just a little side note. Mike and Helen Fuller at TOPS are good people. I was one of their first customers and they knew me by name for years. My girlfriend at the time was South African just like Helen. Good people and always included a hand written note with every purchase. Mike Fuller is a real good straight up guy, among the best in the business!

Mike has been one of the best and most patient friends I have ever had, and Helene is an A #1 class-act all the way. The two of them together make for an exponential multiplication of integrity.

That was wordy, I realize, but it is true.

Ouch instant headache after that one, but very true!

What is it Brian? Every knifemaker/designer I 've had the privilage of knowing, talking with, emailing or working with are the coolest on this planet. Mike Fuller, Scott Gossman, Matt Lesniewski (ML knives), Mike Perrin, Jeff Randall, Ron Hood, Bryan Breeden, Kalib (Muskratman knives), Dave G Burke (Leatherface-Azraels Custom Leather).

Brian if you multiply integrity you end up with a whole number....I think that is a good thing...Of course if you take the exponent of the multiple of integrity you will hit an inflection point of goodness. At that inflection, it is as good as it gets....

Bear,

I think it's like wilderness people: for the most part, folks who love the wilderness, and love knives, aren't pretentious because they are always looking to go back to the basics, to nature, to the original elements of man, instead of trying to be social climbers, wear the most expensive clothes, and try to impress everyone wit the shallow external B.S. promoted by society so often.

It's the stripping away of B.S. and getting back to the basics that makes people in the knife and wilderness worlds such true gems.

Same with drummers: the drum was man's first musical instrument. The knife was man's first tool.

Aye.......

If we could get a set without the coating I would be in.

Gee, you make us sound like unkempt, overly honest, bad conversationalists with no career paths ;)

I still cant decide if its sheeple friendly.

I need a sheeple friendly fixed blade because our school has a credited bacpacking trip. I go on it every year and usually end up teaching the gym teachers that instruct it something.
Last time I packed a mora and a estwing hatchet and they made me leave them in the office for the weekend so all I had was a sak.
To make matters worse the hatchet the school had was the made in china stainless kind you find at gander mnt, it wasnt even sharpened.
