Here's a TOPS knife I can really get on board with

I still cant decide if its sheeple friendly.

I need a sheeple friendly fixed blade because our school has a credited bacpacking trip. I go on it every year and usually end up teaching the gym teachers that instruct it something.
Last time I packed a mora and a estwing hatchet and they made me leave them in the office for the weekend so all I had was a sak.
To make matters worse the hatchet the school had was the made in china stainless kind you find at gander mnt, it wasnt even sharpened.

Mac,

If they balked at a mora I can't imagine that they would be okay with any fixed blade - unless you REALLY made headway last year. You might want to pack a file and sharpening stone. They shouldn't be that provocative and you could show them how useful a catchet can be with a proper edge.

I like the look of this knife, and would like to see it next to a RAT-3 & RC-4. I'd also like to handle one to see if that grip is as comfortable as it looks.

Hey Brian, put me in on the group buy. No serrations for me. I'd prefer no coating.
Mike and Helen at TOPS are good people. I was a dealer for them around 2000 2001. I always enjoyed chatting with Helen when I placed an order. Got to meet Mike at the 2005 Blade Show.

Next time I think I will bring my ash-1 and a ontario machette just to see how much they rant lol.

I did get away with walking around with the mora on my belt for a few hours in school before we left for the trip so some teachers might be warming up to the idea of knives in school. :crossfinger:

We're gonna touch base by phone tomorrow so he can tell me the whole story of how it came about. If anyone has any specific questions about the knife itself, put 'em up and I will ask. Any pricing or purchase information will come from Spark, not me, since he is arranging the group buy. I'm not going to step on Spark's toes and screw up any arrangements he is making.

Perfect for when your going to eat a "tactical" cow.

Nice! I prefer tactical hogs, though. :D
