Here's Are Pics & Specs Of The Proto "Mini Muk" . . .

The design is starting to grow on me a bit...
Although, I prefer the longer blade as well. :thumbup:

I like it! If I can get my mitts on some hand-shaped grips for it, I'm in. Heck, I'll order micarta and sand 'em down myself!

Good job!

I'll probably wait for a Ganza version for that very reason... I just hope Boss does some in micarta.

But if DC green linen is an option... that might just be too good to pass up. ;) :D

I like the design but i think i would prefer a longer version also. Maybe offer a mini and a standard version at the same time. :)

I like it a lot, Boss Hog! I can stretch my little girly hands on the bigger blades any day, but this could easily handle lots of my smaller chores!! And thin enough to be a kitchen knife, I think!

That's more like it. It would be hard not to jump on this one.

Nice job Jerry.

Based on the feedback from the previous thread, I put this proto together . . . It is .125" thick with an incredibly thin edge and full height grind. . .

Blade Length: 3 3/4"
Overall Length: 8 1/8"
Blade Width: 1 5/16"
Blade Thickness: 1/8" . . . (.125")

So tell me HOGs. . . What do you think of the new "Mini Muk".

Jerry :D

I do hope micarta is offered on both. I prefer the "softer" feel and slightly better grip (to me at least).

As for the blade itself... well it's amazing and I would not hesitate to buy a few..

I am just not a fan of the G10 handle.. Like what many others have said micarta all the way... Like the Cultelli I am sure there will be plenty of handle options to fit everyone paticular taste.. sooo, its all good !

JERRY, YOUR A GENUS !!

I like both micarta and G-10. For a hunting/camping knife, Orange G-10 cannot be beat IMO. The original one pictured in Pumpkin/Satin cannot be beat, except maybe by Orange G-10 and DC finish. Looks like it may be a better skinner than the PBS too, but I've never used a PBS...

I agree, 1/8" for the Minimuk, 3/16" for the Bussmuk and the standard .320" for the Nukemuk....:)

MiniMuk = 0.125" Yes!
BussMuk = 0.1875" Yes!
NukeMuk = 0.32"? Na, that's too thin. Gotta be 0.375"!! OINK!!

I also wonder how the TAC or ASH handles would work on the NukeMuk.
If the blade is about 6", then either of these grips would make more sense than the EDC. Especially in 3/8" stock. :D :eek: :D

Come on Jerry.............BRING IT!!! :thumbup: :thumbup: :)

I like this Skinny Mini Muk. :thumbup:

Mainly because I don't yet own a sub 4" Busse...

But.... as others have said.... I too would like to see plain old black canvas Micarta on this one as well as other handle options.

I like the idea of the MiniMuk and BussMuk.

Leave the MiniMuk as described and make the BussMuk HOGish at .320"!! :eek:

I'd buy both... :thumbup:

Nessmuk:

"A word as to knife, or knives. These are of prime necessity, and should be of the best, both as to shape and temper. The “bowies” and “hunting knives” usually kept on sale, are thick, clumsy affairs, with a sort of ridge along the middle of the blade, murderous-looking, but of little use; rather fitted to adorn a dime novel or the belt of “Billy the Kid,” than the outfit of the hunter. The one shown in the cut is thin in the blade, and handy for skinning, cutting meat, or eating with."

That's great it's going to be 1/8. I'd buy one at that size and thickness!
