Here's Are Pics & Specs Of The Proto "Mini Muk" . . .

YES!!!!!

I'LL TAKE IT!!!!

I'm hoping it'll be coming out in a LE version??? Please!:D Have to say that I like this slicer a whole lot better than the last one that came out. Just couldn't ever get over it not having a point!!! I guess I'm just funny that way...my knives need to have a point....:D

Oh man! I really like it. Beautifully designed with no blade lost to choil. SWEEEEEEET.:thumbup:

This is one that I'd like to see come with a sheath, or have the BCS sell the sheaths immediately, or send a couple out early to our favorite leather and kydex suppliers.

I prefer the smaller one. I'm not sold on it yet, but I can see it being a very useful knife. I'm sure it will grow me(I didn't like the ash1 when it came out but it's now my favorite) Lets see some more color combos!!!
I would like it with a rounded butt though

I like the smaller one better... if it comes in satin and micarta I'LL TAKE IT !! it'll hopefully be in the .20"+ thickness too :D

The first one, (the larger one) for sure! anything smaller ...I would grab a Game Warden first. A choice of different scales would be cool as well and a 3/16" thick narrowed down with a full saber grind. That would be the one for me!

I love that mini-muk. I would be unable to resist it.

...and I think it would sell well beyond we Busse cultists. :D

That said -- I'd also like a shot at the large version (midi-muk?)!!

I'd buy both as well, but my preferences for this one are:

-thin
-satin
-micarta (any flavor)
-G10 (hunter orange only)

I really like the looks of the shorter one, especially if it is thin. I would prolly be usefull in the kitchen for cutting meat also.

I have never ordered more than one of each offering but I think this time I would be in for two, one with black canvas/green blade and one with DC and green linen!!!

I'll be waiting!

In the last year i've sold all my busse knives, i'd have to back up and add this one i belive.

:D

Perfect. I am glad to be reading posts from a guy who listens so closely to his customers. Rare in todays business world IMHO.

Any chance of getting an "in hand" shot if the knife? I'm reading the specs but a pic in hand would really help with discerning the scale:thumbup:

The Muks' look to be fine working blades. As such, I was thinking the these are actually blades you might regularly choke up while working. That said, unlike other Busses', was wondering why these don't have larger choils like the others.

It looks great just as is. Active Duty size handle. I don't think this knife needs choil. Looks easy to carry. Sort of a vastly improved Pork Belly Skinner. I think satin finish is best for this knife since it is quite likely to be used with food.

Looks like an outstanding little knife--and yes, please listen to the hunters here who actually skin things and go with the smaller one. ;)

I personally would think both lengths would have their own niches for use. And can understand why so many prefer one or the other. Different people just have different sets of uses and preferences.

The smaller is better for skinning IMO.

But, the slightly longer one would have a lot of camp chore and food prep advantages.

So, to each there own.

I think 0.125" is great for the smaller one and would still be fine for the larger one. But, up to about 0.1875" (3/16") would still be fine as well for the larger one.

I can't understand why people would want or need thicker for this size knife. It is "INFI"! It is PLENTY tough and strong!

I know everyone seems on the bandwagon for the design, but I still say the blade edge is too far from the index finger.

Personally, I would still prefer a flatter/shallower edge - especially on the larger one as I would use it more for Camp Chores and food prep. But, it depends on your intended use.
If someone wants a skinning knife, I would see the smaller one with the current belly curve being a very good choice.

Camp chores, food prep and just general tasks would benefit from a flatter/shallower edge!

I think if both are made, leave the smaller one with the belly as it is (- but bring the blade edge in closer!!!)

If the larger one is made, I would flatten the belly as I recommended on the other thread. The flatter edge has many other advantages for most everything short of skinning.

In both cases (large or small version) the ricasso and choil are too big and I still say the Talon Hole serves no purpose on this knife and a lot of other smaller knives. I wish my AD did not have the over-sized choil and talon hole. I like using the area of blade that is missing from these blades and taken by these useless features. There is no need for such a large choil that is still to small to use as a finger choil. PLEASE make the non-functioning choils MUCH smaller.

If there "MUST" be a talon hole, at least squeeze it in tight and bring the blade edge in MUCH closer more like this:

Larger blade with smaller choil, more blade edge in tight, slightly flatter/shallower blade ege and Talon Hole in tight to the handle:

Much better use of space and blade edge IMO than the over-sized choils, over-sized ricasso and Talon Holes - sorry to be nagging about this. Just my strong opinion on this detail.

I try to admit many things are subject to opinion, but many of the current choils and Talon Holes are wasting what SHOULD be VERY usable blade edge.

..... Personally, I would still honestly dump the Talon Hole completely and bring the index finger part of the handle and the blade edge even closer together for even better function. But, in the event the Talon Hole is just mandatory in spite of function .....

*** I love the ZERO edge!!!
