I'm pretty sure they are the same size. the first photo was taken at a much steeper angle, inducing a great deal of elongation and perspective distortion.

but i could be wrong. i mentioned this in the first thread, but i didn't have a way of distorting the posted image to show it's comparitive size to another active duty handle.

but now i do! thats what the above is, a lens distortion corrected version of the original posted photo

i'd love to see a longer version of the blade, i just don't think that that was what was intended by the first photo.

[EDIT] well, boss hog proved me wrong :), one is in fact an inch longer.

the pictures i've attached here will give an idea of what camera/eye perspective can do to something when you look at it. in order to make the item look correct when facing it at an eye level angle, the artist had to elongate the entire image, especially the foot, since the farther back it got the smaller it would look. so to correct, he made it much larger.

The design of the these 2 Busse Muks were derived from taking the blade design off of Nessmuk's drawing and sticking an Active Duty handle on it!!!. . . .

But this is not the last of the protos that you will see my friends. . . We are making another one as we speak! It will be the more robust "HogMuk" design and will feature a newly designed handle!!!

We will be offering the "MiniMuk" and the "HogMuk" together. . . .

The "HogMuk" profile is much closer to the original's spirit of design but with added pork . . .

Here are some preliminary specs. . . (These might change. . . )

Blade Length: . . . . . 4 1/2"

Overall Length: . . . . 9 1/2"

Blade Thickness: . . . Approx. 3/16"

Handle: . . . The new "DCH" (Day Camper/Hunter) with Flying "V" pattern.

Stay tuned!

Jerry :D

Well... It looks a little smaller than the other one... :foot:
;) LOL!
...Works for me... But then again, so did the Bussmuk... Slap some snakeskin... Ok fine, some green linen... Oh ALRIGHT... some Tigerhide linen micarta (will that fly? :D) on them both and offer as a set... And I'll be all over them!!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

YES YES

a set!!!

MiniMuk and HogMuk together!!! Oh yeah!!! Fingers crossed for satin and orange g-10...

WOW Boss!! SoooooooooWeeeeeeeeeeT!! I'll be buying at least one of each!

Orange G-10 would be cool, as would Black G-10 and Green Linen. Any old school Green Linen lying around?

DC and Satin only!!

I am in for one of each....

I think my wife will love the smaller one in the kitchen. 1/8 inch PERFECT!!

Yeah, I think these have the makings of a good kitchen knife too, with the choil and talon hole being higher than the blade.

Are these available yet:D;)

When he says "together" does he mean at the same time or you have to buy both?

Both of these blades are in the prototype stage as they are working out the kinks and as we all love incorporating some of the suggestions of the gang around here.

I think Jerry means that they will be released at the same time, but you can buy one or both. And trust me, you'll be hammered by a bunch of swine around here to just get both. I'm so psyched to hear that these blades are coming to fruition pretty quickly. My hope is that they are released in the next 2 weeks (read 2 months).

I think a lot of these HOGS believe in this premise:

Well the big one would be too big and too thick for what I'd want it for but the smaller one would be right up my alley. The handle looks good not too thin and square and then the thin blade with a fine edge would make an outstanding belt knife. I'd love to have that type steel in a good slicing blade.:D

Based on the feedback from the previous thread, I put this proto together . . . It is .125" thick with an incredibly thin edge and full height grind. . .

Blade Length: 3 3/4"
Overall Length: 8 1/8"
Blade Width: 1 5/16"
Blade Thickness: 1/8" . . . (.125")

So tell me HOGs. . . What do you think of the new "Mini Muk".

Jerry :D
