I went out for lil today in the woods by my house. We had a fresh snow fall and there were a bunch of tracks all over the place.

Here are a few pics of the area.

I want to make this fun.So I will post one set of tracks and once we come to an agreement on what made them we will move to the next.

I am in Bethel, CT; the area the pics were taken is next to a townhouse community. The patch of woods is about a few square miles.

Here is the first set.

Looks like squirrel tracks to me.

They look more like deer tracks than any rabbit tracks I have ever seen, but maybe it's the powdery snow affecting the track ?

Not that I know what I am talking about, but I am thinking squirrel. I also was thinking rabbit at first, but when I followed them, they started at a tree.

We can always come back to this one later....

Next set.

canine is my guess...

maybe fox, dog, coyote?

as to the pics above, if they came out of a tree then i would guess squirrel. Andrew and I found a set of tracks that looked like a very very tiny deer, but then we realized that tiny deer can't run straight through trees, so we decided that it was probably squirrel.

the squirrel tracks are ,well, squirrel tracks. The canid tracks look like fox(likeliest) or coyote only because in the aerial view,it looks like brush marks dragging in the track

Could be a fox.

I live just north of Tony and see plenty of fox tracks.

Size and gate seem right.

I'm going to go with domestic dog.

Based on what Watchful taught us the other day, it appears that the center toes are round and even size with the outer toes.

I definitely could be wrong though! ;)

The first set are squirrel (you can almost see him bounding along to get to the next tree stretching out.... also take note of the snow that has fallen off that stick... cool pattern) and the second set is a fox who's gate pattern tells me that is a bit of a slope to the left and not just a tilted camera. He also has a bit of a skip to his step!.... excitable little guy.... Wook at da widdle pwints........ ahwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

but I may be wrong........

There are plenty of fox here and coyote. However I have never seen anyone walking there dogs in this area of the woods.

My guess was fox, here are a bunch of similar tracks.
