HI Scramsax/Seax/Saex Design Thread

Keith, regarding handles, some buffalo shin bone would be outrageous, but realistically speaking, I'd like both of mine in wood if possible. If the "wood" turns out being black, glossy, former head adornment of a bovine, I won't cry none about that either. Just figured wood would be more proper for a Scram handle.

I'm going to wood too, but I was musing that bone would make quite a nice seax-handle.

I'll make note of the handle material, Sarge. I too would love a bone or composite handled one, but gotta opt for the stylish horn meself. Red runes on a jet black handle--witchy!

all the votes are in! The 8 seax plus runes orders-- five choose wood handle, three choose horn (and a few of us wished for bone!)

Keeping a close eye on the post, looking fer the last check. Then the order is off!

"got my new Kirk Douglas/Tony Curtis "Vikings" DVD"--ruel
Heeh eeheeh! Hail Ragnar's beard! I trust you got the widescreen edition, much cooler than the edited for television ratio version. Better scenes inside Ragnar's hall.

I gotta class "The Vikings" in the same class as "Lion In Winter". A bit cheesy, but overall entertaining, and it was probably the $h1t back in the day. Ruel, have you ever seen Fritz Lang's old version of Sigfried--The Niebelungenleid? Black and white silent movie. You may remember Fritz's masterwork Metropolis, (from whence the first "sexy female robot" pix came).

BTTT

Sorry, bit of thread tending.

Apr. 28 - scrams arrive in NV - (8 to Keith)

Are we still on schedule fer this date above? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller? Uncle?

I await only one check b-for sending the "Big check" to Bill.

Keith

Don't hold yer breath...

Uncle says he won't know until it gets here. My estimate is based on past special orders. However, if Pala's attention is elsewhere, who knows how long this will take...

It's been so long since I saw "The Vikings" that I can't even remember if it's good or not. But _Lion in Winter_ is one of my all-time favorite movies -- I love the mind games, betrayals, and manipulation, all in crisp dialogue. :D

Though I'm familiar with the robot (who isn't!?), I haven't seen either of FL's movies. Hopefully DVD versions will be coming out soon. (In fact, I've been using the whole DVD conversion thing to justify all kinds of movie purchases, "in the interest of supporting the arts" and all.) ;)

another pic of a seax, or in this case a Celtic fighting knife...

This is most certainly a forerunner to the seax.

For the "Takers+runes." I'll go deposit them tomorrow, then send the BIG CHECK to Uncle for the seaxes.

Hold on, folks. we're almost there...

Keith

Now's the time for the "takers-no runes" folks to prepay and specify wood or horn handle.

That is the best way to ensure you will get one.

Dan

to Uncle today for the Takers+Runes seaxes.. Also sent the request that 5 models have wood handles, and three have horn. We'll see if the kamis agree with our choices.

Uncle says it will be a month or two before they arrive in Reno, so we'll figure out what to do with the schedule after that.

Thanks!

Keith
