High End EDC Pi$$ing Contest.....

Not to disrespect anyone, but not a single one of these blades look like they have been carried, or even cut anything. Not a single scratch on a blade or handle or clip to say they have been used. Very nice knives tho everyone.

Many of my knives look brand new, even though I've used them extensively to cut pretty much anything I needed to cut. I take care of my knives, as I'm sure many others here do. So, what do scratches have to do with anything?

Pictures were taken when new. I don't take a picture every time I use my knife. I also take care of them and don't cut things like shingles or sandpaper with them.

I realized I forgot to note another and possibly the biggest reason...I like pretty knives.

You could argue that a nice knife is a cosmetic and/or functional work of art. To me, attractive styling does justify more pricing in many cases.

CM, nice EDC. OP, if starting such a thread wouldn't showing your stuff be appropriate in the opening post?

PS. I only have one custom and it is NOT high end, compared to some, price wise. I have carried and used it but not like I would use a tenacious. Here is a pic.

I really like the Tobin and would carry as well. Nice!!

I don't know about you, but I sure don't need to stab through car doors on a daily basis. I can't speak for anyone else, but I carry and use my Hinderer more than any other knife in my collection. Most of my daily tasks involve opening envelopes, maybe breaking down a box or two, and cutting a little rope. My knives continue to look brand new after months of carry and use, especially with a stonewash like that.

Day-um, you guys have way more income for these higher end pieces of awesome... I really need to move up in the world.

I can't speak for CM or anybody else, but It's not that I have a lot of income, I just live a simple life, I don't waste money on booze or smokes anymore. Now I have "me" money. Most people here started out with flea market specials and Bucks/ Gerbers. Some people are content with them. Others want to see what all the fuss is about with the customs. I stick with midtechs and rarely cross into the custom territory.

Knives are pretty much my only hobby that cost any amount of money, others are cheap, including reading and writing. I too live quite simply and would even if I did not live below poverty level, a fact I am hoping to change soon if I can just find some work, preferably in my field. I make sure to restrict my knife budget to around $300/yr, $350/yr if I am really lucky.

Same here. Quit dope/booze/tobacco. I make/customize knives and carry systems. I also receive compensation for service connected disabilities. I have no kids, no spouse, no major expenses.

I'm disabled as well but as a result of birth rather than the service. Sorry to hear of your injuries, hope they do not cause you any major issues.
