High end pocket knives

I can't off the top of my head name a $1000 knife I'd go with. A bunch of great suggestions here for sure, just not one that jumps out at me.

I would want something Custom made by one of the knife makers here on BF. Probably a fixed blade, but maybe a Super Awesome Folder.

I bet there are a few on here that could make something pretty great for $1000!

If you were to ask someone 100 years ago what they thought would be a $1000 (currency equated to their time) knife would be, after prolonged looks of bewilderment, you may have a posse on your tail by whiskey night's end. On a serious note someone would likely say a knife coveredin jewels and gold, other than that, no knife back then would [likely] cost 1000 dollars. TODAY HOWEVER. It is quite easy to find a folding knife costing even more than than that. Just look at the MKT Praetorian models

That is a very nice selection of knives Don.
I admit, I only recognized 5 knives in that pic.

I don't know what I would get for $1k. I have only gone over $200 a handful of times.

Can I cheat and say a CRK Large Sebenza (not sure which flavor) ~$600+ Carothers Field knife ~400?

I don't have enough knowledge of what is available at the $1k price point.

Very nice, I expected nothing less from you!!!

Now kind sir, please pick your top 3 and then the one you would keep if you had to. Just curious
Tough to pick.

I guess gun to my head ill say:

FSD-I
Lamia
DUK

Ill keep the FSD-I simply because it offers the most deployment options of the three.

I did this in 15 seconds. Taking time to think on it the three could be different.

Also, this is not a SOTC. Just a pic with some in that list. Factoring in all my knives, it would be different.

Very nice and I know your collection is much larger 🤣🤣🤣

DON nice knives, but I have to say that you cheated a bit. It seems that most of these knives are over $1000.......Thats ok its just for fun and I enjoyed the knives

Some, maybe, but most in that pic are under 1k

I'll say this, none are easy to get. You seek them out. It takes a lot of time, connections and persistence. This will not be appealing to many.

yes, personally... for that amount, a nice anso toko - but I'd want it in magnacut

Many brilliant suggestions above. The truth is at $700-$1K you have a vast selection of new and second hand knives to choose from. It really depends what your personal preference is.
Here are a few of my suggestions.........

A2 Knives - The two Andres make brilliant knives. I am intimately familiar with their process and I can tell you each knife is as close to perfect as can be achieved.

CRK - They still make the quintessential daily carry, hard use knife. I would choose a 31 with a Magnacut Insingo blade.

Bret Dowell - If you like traditional pattern knives Bret's knives can still be ordered for under $1K. They are beautifully made true heirloom pieces of traditional cutlery. Unbelievable value in today's world.

Frank Centofante - If you wanted something from the classic days of custom knives the late Frank Centofante made beautiful knives that can still be had for very realistic prices.
Frank was the chairman of the U.S. Knifemakers Guild in its heyday and he was one of the early makers of the gentleman's pocket knife, often in collaboration with such knifemakers as Bob Loveless. His knives regularly come up for sale on ACK for under $1K.

Now all you have to do is tell us you choice......... :)
I own half a dozen of the A2 knives; they are awesome! The action and fit and finish are superb. I always feel when I handle one that it can't get better. They make me smile when I flip them. If you can afford one and love these types of knives, it would be a shame not to own at least one. They are 100% worth what they cost!105497_1_x.jpg

Id be very happy with a plain jane Sebenza with glass blast finish
Or a custom designed 31 graphic
