High end pocket knives

I own half a dozen of the A2 knives; they are awesome! The action and fit and finish are superb. I always feel when I handle one that it can't get better. They make me smile when I flip them. If you can afford one and love these types of knives, it would be a shame not to own at least one. They are 100% worth what they cost!View attachment 3070159
I completely agree on all points you made. I think these knives/maker is a “sleeper” in the knife world. It’s truly one the smoothest flippers in my collection next to Meades and Shams.

Hard to explain how good they are all around, absolutely worth giving it a try to anyone who hasn’t that’s looking for a top tier flipper.

$1000 = high end now? When did that happen.
Right? I don't even look at a knife unless it's at least 1,001$

Realistically though, I have no idea what knife I'd spend 1,000$ on. My most expensive one is around 300€ now, and that's already a hefty price for me. I've been curious about SHFs and CRKs (especially an Inkosi Insingo), but their prices make me back off of that curiosity for now, I believe either would run me about 600€ right now, buying new.

But I'd love to at least handle one of those, or some much more expensive knives as well, just to see if I can even appreciate the high asking price. Haven't yet seen any expensive brands in any stores here (I'm in the eastern part of Austria)

Another nod to Thorburn. Those grinds! Very much worth the money, imho.

If you were to ask someone 100 years ago what they thought would be a $1000 (currency equated to their time) knife would be, after prolonged looks of bewilderment, you may have a posse on your tail by whiskey night's end. On a serious note someone would likely say a knife coveredin jewels and gold, other than that, no knife back then would [likely] cost 1000 dollars. TODAY HOWEVER. It is quite easy to find a folding knife costing even more than than that. Just look at the MKT Praetorian models
What someone assigns monetary value to for the most part is directly tied to their discretionary income. I say “for the most part” because obviously some people can’t control their spending. But normally, that’s how it goes.

If you’re worried about where your next meal will come from or behind on your rent or mortgage, you’re not going to even consider a $1k knife. OTOH, if $1k doesn’t even put a dent in your budget. . .

Personal preference also plays a role
""""Currently"""" I can afford a 1k knife without much concern but I have no interest in a knife that cost 1k, additionally i think [most] of them esthetically are ugly and big
Just my opinion though

I agree 100% but think about this, you had Elon money, would you even hesitate to buy a $1k knife that you found even mildly interesting?

If someone was willing to give you 700 to 1000 $'s that could only be spent on one knife...... after thanking them, what would you buy.
Something I could sell easy . ;)

I'm not gonna carry a knife that costly . No need to.
