Great handle mod. That stacked leather looks comfortable. Would you mind discussing that mod some more...maybe in its own thread? Thanks.

DanR, I was thinking about doing that as soon as I take a few more pics. It was real simple to do. Did most of the research through the forums. I'm still a rookie at kmife mods.
 
WOW! thats the first blade engraved Karda I've seen yet,thanks Abanik now ya got me REALLY wanting one.

At 14 inchs length and 15 oz weight, It, IMHO, is a near perfect knife. The engravings make me happy. I have a simple special order I'm contemplating asking Yangdu about for me. Budget, what budget?:rolleyes:
 
i've been avoiding looking at this thread. many pretty pictures. the bdc seems to have its sights on the foxy's position.

You did a great job. That is what is helpful about this forum...you get the inspiriation and instructions on how to mod your own knives. I have collected (and used) blades of all types for years but since I have been reading the posts on this forum I have really started enjoying my blades even more. I've done some minor handle repairs, sharpening and polishing of blades. It's a lot of fun. Somehow modifying your blades makes them more personal. I look forward to your posts on the leather handle. Thanks.

I agree Magnum. I originally wanted a foxy baaaaad. I bought a 14" bdc because it looked similar and well made. I liked it so much I bought an 18" bdc too. Love that one also. I broke down and special ordered a foxy with a neem handle. Can't wait to get that one. The bdc's are really nice but I like the feel of the partial tang handles like the foxy. I also managed to recently get a foxy from a forumite. I've used it and it chops very well. Don't hesitate to get the bdc and foxy. I bet you will like them both.
