Hinderer standoffs on a zt 560 will it work

You might try e-mailing Rick or Rob or asking on the Hinderer forum, too. I think many of us are interested.

I would be surprised if they work - the combined thickness of the blade and washers is likely different, and the 0560 standoffs have a boss that fits into the hole in the handle. The XM-18 standoffs do not have the boss, and it's unlikely that they are interchangeable with the 0560/0561.

Rick should have both knives, so he would have the final word on this.

The standoffs fit perfectly.
The fitment issue is the hardware.
The female piece is too long for a flush fit.
If you were to file down the female side it would fit.

What about a 551/550?

Same issue

Female Chain Ring Bolt 3/16" 6-32 thread.

- Cut bolts .285" (7/16") lengths.
Make square cuts.

- You also need to file or sand the XM standoffs.
File the XM sides EVENLY and SQUARE until they are .206", which is the width of the ZT standoffs.

- When the XM standoffs are .206", put the .285" threaded bolt pieces inside the XM
standoffs and you can use the ZT screws to put everything back together.

Thanks for clearing that up. Ive been wondering this for a while. Speaking of standoffs, are the 0560 standoffs TI or stainless? Anyone know?

The XM-18 standoffs and hardware will work...HOWEVER....as was mentioned...you do have to file the handle nuts to fit as they are too long for the 560...and the standoffs for the XM-18 is .195 in width...the standoffs for the 560 is .205...so thats a full .010 thicker...So they may not be the perfect solution to a Ti standoff...BUT...I am considering making a run of the 560 Standoffs in Titanium so you all can customize your 560's with titanium standoffs using the original 560 hardware! What do you think?

Very cool. I'd buy some, but first - can you hook us up with some Orange scales for it? :D

(also, some more Orange scales for the 055X too - you know, when you're not too busy making some of the most awesome folders around)

+1000. orange scales for the 055X and 056X would definitely result in me adding 2 more knives to my collection! ;)

I'd be down for a set as well. Please update us here if this comes to pass.

Bring the orange scales and some blue standoffs.
