Well my feelings are that satin is smoother, it's a polished surface. But DC is smooth to the touch, but a very fine blasted surface. Durability ? well satin with the exception of deep scratches can be polished out. DC if you have access to a blaster cabinet ( they are cheap ) a quick blast and it's back. I believe Cobalt has gone over this before in a thread here. Now also with DC you can't polish out marks as you'll change the appearance of the surface. But there's also the ability to take DC after much use and kinda give it a home satin look.

Hope this helps.

This one got me off the fence, I have only grabbed a DS and this so far in this iteration of OP2.

I was able to chance my order to the Satin finish. Thank you for your insight.

I don't think I have any knives in the 6 inch range, My Carothers field knife comes close. Well okay I do have an Esee 6. I'm also excited for this one but forgot what I ordered. I know it was Sage but either Maroon or forest green canvas.

Lol I’m really looking forward to this one as well. The satin and smooth scales have takin ahold of me. Would be sweet if there were options like this on the Team Gemini Light Bring LE (tglble) but honestly, anything satin will be great! :)

The offerings appear to be shipping monthly....there are like 6 knives before the this one.....so realistically seems like 6-7 months, unless production speeds up considerably.
