HOG folders?

I'm mostly a slipjoint guy, although that little BM 3100 Automite in the middle there is a nifty little piece:

If I need something larger, the Skirmish gets the nod:

Awesome Severtech Gerberblades! Man I want a Severtech so bad... I'd prefer the Spartan, but I sure wouldn't say no to the standard tanto one either ;) Too bad auto's are illegal here, even just owning one is a serious offense. Dumbest law ever! :grumpy:

Anyway, I carry a sebenza. I alternate between a small micarta and a large Lisa's pick.

The Spartan is AWESOME! I am saving for one right now. You could buy one and just keep it in your home. IDK where you are, but California law says this:

"Switchblades may be owned privately in the home, but not street-carried;"

You can still show it off and EDC it around the house!:D:)

Send it to me, I am sure I would have no problem breaking it..

I bet a Strider XL would easily take a lot more work to destroy..

Severtech standard. It is the strongest folder ever made.

.189 inches thick of A2 tool steel. Its A beefy sucker. (Bottom knife is the Severtech, compared to the meaner, top)

Tony G - How on earth were you able to order two XM-18s???

Back in July '07 I contacted Hinderer and he said he was making knives and they would be sold through his dealers.

So I got on a dealer list in 70th and 71st place. I talked to the dealer a few days ago and he said that he had 100 knives on order and the blades have been heat treated and are being sent back to Rick now. So maybe I'll see them before summer.

It wouldn't do any good to get on this guys list at this point for this batch because you'd be about number 150.

But if you want one some day.... you need to call the dealers he lists on his web page and see if any are adding to their waiting lists.

.

I have some nice folders, both tactical locking knives and slipjoints. But I honestly have been getting more mileage out of a Victorinox SAK than anything else lately. I carry the Climber most of the time. It saw me through a 2-week tour of Great Britain, and it accomplishes just about everything I need from a folder, day-in, day-out.

It ain't high tech, and it ain't fancy, and it doesn't even lock. But I sure likes me a Vic SAK. I use the main blade, the bottle opener, and the scissors all the time.

I like the straight handle of the sebenza. I carry a large or small with micarta inlays

When I buy another Sebenza, the small one there is the knife I'm buying.

What folders do the Hogs carry? And don't tell me you don't carry folders!

OK, I wont.

I own a couple but I dont carry them. Why would I want to carry a broken knife around when I have several EDC sized Busse's??? :p

UGLY as $hit....same as every other Strider ever made. The owner is a complete idiot, I lost all respect for him just reading on the forums. The price is outrageous, $1400, compared to $250. The Strider is bigger too.

And autos are cooler than any other folder, period.

I like Spydies, too. I think they are great knives for the money.
I carry my Dodo everyday....which replaced my long-time edc, a Dragonfly.
I just saw the new Tenacious and think I'll pick one up.

I think we need to see a destruction test of that Severtech.

A claim like strongest foler evar can't be made lightly on the Busse forums. We need proof!

Considering you know so much about this knife... heck you dont even know the name. It is a hell of a lot better looking than any of the Striders.

sorry Gerberblades, I didnt mean any disrespect. I edited my post.

It just didnt appeal to me.

I own a paramilitary but I only carry fixed blades, usually a meaner or an AD and a non Busse necker

I've been eying that one myself, if you get one, I'd be interested in your appraisal

Destruction test?? No folder can take what a fixed blade can. Go pry with a Sebenza, or any other folder and see what happens. What I am saying is that the Severtech is one of the strongest folders. But I did recommend a general use test.
