HOG folders?

Lately? The rotation has been a Classic L Sebenza, a ZT301 and a Rat Trap.

i carry one of these, among others. :) (except the xm18, which is a passaround blade).

I'm just giving ya the gears bro. I've seen you post pics of that Severtech before and I'm mostly impressed/jelous each time I see it.

I'll spend hundreds of dollars (+) on a fixed blade but I can't seem to allow myself to spend more than a hundred bucks on a folder, for a knife I'll use every day. Go figure.
 
Just compare it against other folders... Any Strider would Rape the fugly severtech.. Trust me on this one sir.. Noss where are you ?

Agreed.

It is an exercise in tolerance that we even have discussions on one manufacturer's sub-forum about other manufacturer's work. The tolerance is based on a pretty strict "no-bashing" rule. If ya wanna bash, take it to the General Forum.

Don't let Hammy or the Princess see ya do it.

I just read the first few posts then added mine as I was "on the run." No, that has nothing to do with a potty break!! :p

What makes you feel this way? I don't know if you realize this, but Severtech blades are 3/16 thick A2 with a bolt/button lock, which has been tested and proven to be one of the strongest locks around when done properly, and the handles are thick slabs of high grade aluminum.

Strider blades are the same thickness, but they use S30V, which has far lower toughness than A2. The blade on a Strider won't last as long on paper. The lock on a Strider, frame or liner, while reliable, is not a strong as a button/bolt lock in most cases, and I'd be willing to bet they are nothing special on the Striders, as the lock relief cut out is very thin.

I don't own either brand, nor particularly like the looks of either, but I think you would be very disappointed if the testing were to actually pan out, based on the facts.
