In ten years of doing business on the internet I havent had a package lost yet, so with my first one its a doozy.

The post office has lost a package containing 20 SAR 4 sheaths, all in black, if you know what these things cost you'll see why I am a little stressed.

Hopefully the scumbag that got them will try to sell them on the internet.

Thank goodness we decided to sit out Blade this year because this could have lowered the hammer down on the trip, but it does make other things rather impossible to pay for.

If y'all could keep an eye out for a bunch of black SAR 4 sheaths, or if the guy doesnt know what he has (which is likely] a bunch of generic leather sheaths. Please forward the info to us and we will take action from here.

To us, and our business this is huge and does hurt, so needless to say I wish kharma upon the lowlife who stole the package. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits! :p

I can post an example pic if anyone wants to see what they look like.

Thanks all!
Dwayne

Dwayne,

By all means post a pic Bro, front and back!!! I'm in Alaska but you WILL have my eyes. This is BS.

That sucks bro - I'm really sorry.

I almost don't want to ask if they were insured... Even if they were, if the USPS is anything like our Post Office I know it will be a few months before you see any money.

An never mind fleas, I'm thinking Lyme disease infected ticks!

Hope they turn up for you.

Best wishes,
Rick.

Sorry to hear it Leatherman. I recently sold a Ranger RD9 with an orange handle and sheath that was also stolen by the USPS. It seems we have a thief in the San Antonio distribution center!!!

I did learn my lesson though, from now on everything will be going insured.

Maybe we could get Jerry to whip us up some INFI pitchforks and we could go down there and raise some hell... although, those postal guys seem to be pretty heavily armed these days... ;)

Sucks a big weenie Dwayne...is all hope gone? I recently had a package sent to me get lost for two weeks.....

Hopefully these will turn up. Does seem like there might be someone with sticky fingers in SA. Might be worth filing a complaint on all the missing blades to make sure the PO is aware of the pattern/problem.

That's a shame. I hope they were insured, but it still a cash flow problem.

Since Postal workers do not know what is in any given package, it seems unlikely that someone can be targeting knives for theft. More probably is that a certain number a packages go missing, no matter what is in them, just by loss in handling.

Bummers man! How long has it been since they were mailed out? If it's been more then 2 weeks you can call 1-800-ASK-USPS and file a report. If you are concerned that it's actual postal theft then you can have the agent on the phone send the report to the Postal Inspector for that area. Who ever gets the report (thats dependent on how it's filled out) should give you a call back in less then 72 hours. Remember to keep the confirmation number they give you and if you don't hear back from someone call the number again and check up on it and have it escalated if need be.

You can also file a report at your local post office but I've found the 1-800 number easier and quicker at times.

Good luck and if you need some more advice in dealing with the post office let me know.

That's awful Dwayne, hope you get 'em back. Priority Mail does get lost every now and then, I've seen it a few times. Sometimes comes back after a couple months. For a business like yours, where you are sending and receiving alot, I would recommend a blanket insurance policy. Insuring each package gets expensive, and having to deal with the PO in the event of a claim is no fun. A blanket policy would insure other aspects of your business as well, and often pays for itself with all the mailing you do. Good luck.

I know we have a couple of USPS workers as members here so hopefully they will chime in. But I am under the impression that insuring your package through USPS is a waste because they just find a way not to pay you or else throw so much red tape at you that you can't wade through it and give up. Hopefully I am wrong. I have never had to make a claim so I DO NOT speak from experience.

Anyways, I bought one of the same sheaths from BCS and love it. Here's hoping the box shows up and will add another pair of eyes up in Alaska.

Dwayne,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I know what they look like since I own one. I'll keep an I out for em in Jersey.

My sympathies on the loss. If I happen to see them somewhere, I'll come back to this thread I'll come back and post.
