I think the only negativity long term will be the 450 produced. I'm more than pleased with my BK20s. Definitely going to be my new favorite large blade.

I was honestly surprised with what came out of the box. I was expecting the "new" coating and a rattley sheath. Nope. Old finish, which I prefer, and a sheath that'll actually hold the knife in upside down.

I like the older coating for feel, but the newer coating makes me happier to look at as it hides smudges better.
 
Held off as long as I could, finally couldn't stand it so I went to the site to make my order and.... the damn order wouldn't go through! Spoke to customer service and they said to do it by phone, but I'm waiting until the 2 pending $200 charges come off my banking transactions. Definitely want this knife, but not for $600.
 
This seriously could not have worked out any better for me. I hadn't been on here for a couple of weeks, happened across this thread yesterday, immediately went to the Kabar website expecting it to be sold out already but was pleasantly surprised. I had purchased it within 10 minutes and just got my shipment confirmation email a minute ago.

I don't have a BK-4 or a BK-5 and had kind of wanted both but wasn't really planning on buying either, so this set is absolutely perfect. For sure, Kabar is clearing out its inventory by "forcing" these knives on the BK-20 buyers. However, they're obviously not doing it to exploit us or even to make money, since cost-wise it appears they are basically getting chucked into the box for free. Even without them, I don't think $200 would be a terrible price for this knife (at least not as an MSRP).

I'd also like to point out that the standard shipping from the Kabar website was free as well.
 
I managed to get an order in today after logging into BF and discovering this deal (so, still available for now). I've only got one BK4 today so this seemed like a no-brainer for me.
 
Just got mine couple days ago, it tooks me like three business days to get it, that's was a really fast shipping from kabar, actually, I was expecting it little bit longer.
I would like to get me another set, but funds are quite limited lately, so for now seems that i have to wait, probably in the next couple weeks if they aren't sold out..
NC, does somebody is getting their bk4 on the stamped version? Since i got my bk5 that way..

I did, came super fast! Got here yesterday!

The stamped 4s are long gone...
All 5's are stamped. There may have been a few laser etched. I have seen pics, but doubtful any are still in stock.

The Ka-Bar site shows the 4 out of stock

That's just the last of their stock...the BK4 is still available in other places.
Just the same, I think I might have to buy another BK20 - so I have a 4 for a Beckerhead-to-be.
 
Can't believe how long it's taking to sell 450 sets . I just grabbed a second set so I will be able to use the one I have cause they are going to be a little rare . Got have one not scratched .
 
Starting to worry, it's been almost two weeks since I ordered mine and it hasn't shown up yet....... Gonna call Kabar tomorrow
 
First time I ordered mine it took them a week to ship them, then a week to receive them. Did you get your shipping email from them yet?
 
No email, I did it over the phone and they never asked for it. I will call and update tomorrow
