Holy Trinity- What 3 knives make a great trio/carry option?

A few years ago, I had two unforeseen overnighters hit me (*within a few-week period) at a couple of different Ranches here in South Texas. Both times, I was horribly unprepared. You'd think I woulda' learned my lesson after the first time. But, nope. Once the sun and temps starting dipping, I just had to suffer 'til the daylight...twice. So, over the few years that followed, I got to setting-up a couple or three Pelican 1450 boxes as kind of a "grab & go"/"no thinking"/convenient option. The boxes have been kinda' fluid in their evolution, but have been a huge success for my uses.

Anyhow, I was out at a certain property this week a bit, and this is the box that was with me, behind the seat of my truck... (*Busse Hell Razor 2, ESEE-5, and Ontario Rat 1 in AUS8)

Your mileage may vary.
I don't see a sleeping bag or even a poncho liner anywhere. Unless it's covered up with knives.

I was cold once, and I didn't like it. Never again.

I’m trading the the third knife for a small prybar/tip saver/multi tool. This has been my daily carry for quite some time now. I occasionally alternate the large knife and flashlight out of boredom but the ladybug/shard combo is a constant. If I had to choose a fixed blade it would probably be a Winkler belt knife or Kephart of some make.

I currently carry a Flat Rock Forge MK1 Dagger at 8 o’clock, ESEE 3 at 1 o’clock in a Armatus sheath, ESEE Izula 2 at 11:30 in an Armatus sheath and a 9mm at 4 o’clock in a Vedder Light Tuck

Having looked over the responses, don't see where anyone got it right.

The Opinel number 10 and a Leatherman micra will handle anything. With that duo you don't need a trio. Especially above tree line. ;)

Who goes above the treeline?
Where do you hand your treestands??

Given the number of folders, fixed blades and SAKs I own, the combinations are endless. It all depends on the season, weather, agenda, and mood.

This^^^

This thread begs the question of the ages - perplexing mankind since flint and obsidian. If I may, I prefer to have three categories rather than three specific knives which, has been said, depends on variables.

FIXED - nothing compares to a fixed blade, be it large or small. Fixed blades are stronger (for given size/weight), are easier to keep clean and do not require the fiddling work of maintained that some folder require. The sheath is key to a fixed blade being EDC-able.
FOLDER (Light) - Be it a classic slip joint or small Spyderco/Ontario RAT 2 slicer, a small lightweight FFG slicer is always useful.
FOLDER (Heavy) - OK, so it may not be necessary if you have a fixed blade but if you've got the britches for it (summer weight tropical wools need not apply) who among us does not enjoy rocking an AD-10 or 4-Max?
SAK - always needed; always welcomed, Sheeple friendly (if you care) but so much so that they should not even count among the three thereby knocking out another choice; IOW, three PLUS a SAK is fine with me ... but if need be, I would certainly want a SAK as one of the knives on my person.
MULTI-TOOL - See my comments on SAKs above. If I'm carrying a multi-tool, I probably don't need much else - but what fun would that be?
LOANER - If you're on BF and reading this thread - you're a knife guy (or gal) and others around you probably know that. That means they will ask to borrow your knife and, if you even get it back at all, will return it abused and used for something that a knife was not meant for. Loaners should not be $5 gas station knives that will hurt someone but my favorites do not get loaned.

I said all of that to say that depending on the planned activities, mode of attire (heavy knives need heavy belts and heavy pants) I do like the following:
AD-10 or Recon-1 or ZT630 or Emerson de jour
Spyderco Pacific SALT serrated
Small fixed blade (for EDC) certainly go big or go home if hunting, camping or otherwise afield.
Not counted as past of the three are SAKs and MTs ... they just are.

85 or 91mm SAK with scissors (if you need to trim a loose thread or a wild hair (or hairs) at your lady's neck line in public, do you really want to use a knife blade?!?) I suggest one with a toothpick, so after eating a Spinach Salad, Brussel Sprouts, or ___ you won't have any of the meal stuck between the teeth.
Multitool of choice. You never know when you'll need pliers or one of the other tools for an unexpected minor repair. (plus it can give you the choice of up to an additional two blades)
Whatever single or multi blade knife you normally carry.

A SAK with the multi purpose corkscrew and one of the eyeglasses screwdrivers "can save the day" by allowing you to tighten the screws of your or your lady's eyewear.
I believe it is FireFly makes a Ferro Rod to replace the SAK toothpick (either size), and FireAnt makes a kindling stick you can break a piece off of and a ferro rod that stores in a SAK corkscrew, in the event you're thrown into a bushcraft survival situation during a night at the opera, the symphony, the movies, or an afternoon at the sports arena. 😊

My work (landscaping and gardening) edc, which happens to be three knives, at the moment is a Benchmade mini adamas, honey badger serrated hawkbill and a tops alrt xl.

Can you get an integral suppressor; on an extended barrel?

I'm not sure. I know they have a 6" barrel for the 10mm Glock 20. I guess you could pay someone to make one for you if you have the money. But my .45 is for self-defense and is sighted in at 40 yards. My Lone Wolf threaded SS match grade barrel seems to be plenty good enough for my needs.

...Just thinking of a way to not have to worry about threading the muzzle of a barrel, and potentially affecting it's accuracy...
Thanks! 👍

SAK Soldier (or an old Camillus Mil-K Utility knife. Actually, I’m carrying a Schrade 1984)

A Spyderco Delica.

If I had to carry a third, a Dozier model 6.

For regular carry, my choices are L.T. Wright Patriot in O1 steel, Opinel #7 in carbon steel, Enzo/Brisa PK70 in S30V. There are others of different sizes and types in my assemblage, but these three are capable and discrete.
