Holy Trinity- What 3 knives make a great trio/carry option?

Here’s todays trio 😃

I'm a carpenter by trade and love utility and building things so;

SAK; for a small blade and it's additional tools.

Small - medium sized knife with a scandi grind; for smaller work, currently an Enzo trapper (Elmax).

Larger knife - for batoning, processing and larger work - currently a Lionsteel M7.

Although I'd also wish to carry an axe and folding saw which would negate the larger blade/knife.
How do you like your Lionsteel M7? Just picked one up....

-Benchmade Bugout (Carbon Fiber/S90v)
-Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2
-Shirogorov F3NS

Personally it's a great knife, I've no problem with a steel that requires a little looking after, and find sleipner a great all round steel.

Handle ergonomics are up there with the best so it's a great chopper/batoning knife.

I'd use a smaller knife normally for finer work but the large finger choil on the M7 gives it surprisingly good control if you don't mind the weight.

So for me personally the M7 is a great knife, although we don't have quite the choice here in the UK as the US but for the price I've definitely got no complaints.

Awesome, thanks for that input! I was initially a bit hesitant b/c I wasnt sure how tough the Sleipner steel would be but all the research I've done seems to show that it's certainly tough enough for hard use. Agreed?

How'd you like the sheath, and how durable did you feel the handle was? Feel free to PM me for further discussion!

I want to add a fourth knife.
And I'll trade off the small Sebbie for a Leatherman Super Tool 300

My current daily carry
1. Buck 110 Pro
2. Spydie Yojimbo 2
3. SAK Rambler

2 & 3 subject to some variation but the pattern holds.

I don't seem to be able to find the PM on my mobile version of BF.

Sleipner is an 8% cr die/tool steel, its a tough steel with the correct HT, although I've been unable to find any tests on its toughness (Impact, lateral strength etc...). I don't abuse my knives but will use them hard and the LS sleipner is excellent re toughness.

The handle on the M7 is very ergonomic and thus far has been extremely durable.

I carry just one folder at a time, which can be anything from a slipjoint in a clipped pocket slip, to a modded Spyderco, to a custom by Nathawut. If I'm out on a hike or camping, then it's also accompanied by a fixed blade, usually a Brad Cartwright custom or a Busse RAD.

Thanks! I think you can't PM b/c you aren't a paid member. Only other thing would be to post on my profile page. Would love to hear your opinion on the M7 sheath and that oughta answer all my questions! Thank you sir and sorry to clog the thread up a bit.

1. Microtech Socom Elite - Heavy cutting tasks
2. Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Sheepsfoot - Food prep
3. Brad Zinker Dogtooth - General utility

Alternatively:
1. Medford M48 - Food prep
2. Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Recurve - Heavy cutting tasks
3. Brad Zinker Dogtooth - General utility

If multitools are being counted, then swap out #3 on both lists for the Leatherman Skeletool.
