Oh also, Cap'n has her 10LE on the bay with OE and micarta along with OE and Azwelke. And has it really reasonably priced right now!

Uh, shut up.

Tis true. I need the money, it's sad, but I use the my other beckers far more than the 10. I think if I had bigger hands, the 10 would be my go to, but I really get a ton of use out of the 11 and 9 combined. And I can't sell my 15. I like how it's stabby.

Also, hi everyone! I know I haven't been around much and I'm sorry!

Just picked up some micarta handles for the 11 on the web. By far the cheapest I've seen them (including shipping to Europe). Can't wait till I can put 'em on my 11.

Morning folks. How's everyone doing? Stinking hot and humid here today. Was planning on going on a run, but might just hold off till tomorrow.

Was it just teh one pair? I'm in the market for some.

Not sure which one you are referring to. Fished them up in the bay. I think 3 pairs left. I think within US tomars might be cheaper but he charges usd30 for shipping outside us, while this guy ships 'em for under 10, like most Bay retailers.

Nice. I cannot say enough good things about Kershaw knives. Is that a I or a II? I don't have either yet but I have a few other kershaws. I'd like to get a Cryo I g10 and a blackwashed II

I have a cryo 1, never really liked it. Too heavy. A bit fond of surface rust as well.

I've never been concerned with weight though the Schrade SCH 300 series was pushing it, they're right about 10 ounces I think. Even still the weight wasn't what turned me off of the knife when I finally got one.

As for rust I live in a desert, very arid. I have many inexpensive Kershaw and other knives and no rust issues.

Well the other day my dad had spinal surgery... Hopefully he will be better soon, but after getting him home and on the way to my house I stopped off with my kiddos at the local flea market on a whim. Did some looking around, and as usual didnt find anything. BUT on the way out I spotted something out of the corner of my eye on a table underneath a bunch of other junk. Two old carbon steel knives. One a fairly neglected 7" Old Hickory Butcher, and what I believe is Russell Green River Knife. Both were pretty rusted up, handles dry as a bone... but they had not been ground to death, hammered on, used as a prybar, pounded through rock, etc etc, like a lot of these old blades are. I hurried and made a deal with the lady, made out good, got home and started to peel away the layers.

Here they were when I got home. The rust was probably worse than the pics show, but there is something special under there.

After a bit of elbow grease.

They really woke up and both took an extremely keen edge. I am particularly fond of the green river. Took an amazing edge and is actually a REALLY great cutter. Thought yall might enjoy.

Excellent find. I have the same Green River and it's an amazing cutter indeed. You'll enjoy those.

Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know, after July 10th I will no longer have mycarta handles for Beckers option anymore. Wood, all resin and hybrids will be available by request only. If you want a set of mycarta handles you will be able to order them from today til July 10th, on July 10th only use promo code "710" take 25% off, its good on your whole purchase.

There is no great reason on to why I am not making them anymore, its just a real pain making them from scratch and having to semi-hand make them.

So the boy is turning 4 on Tuesday. Today we decided to take him up north for a bit of a "Birthday Day". Because he is my first born son I have no problem spoiling him for his birthday.

We started with breakfast and getting dressed. We then started loading the car up for a day of fun and went and picked up my father in-law. We then went up north....

Now that the snow is all gone I figured I'd take a picture of the Duce and a Half before we get her rolling this summer. I included the BK2 for some Becker content. Saw a few of these in BeardedNemophilist's thread.

We then hooked up the 6.5hp pump and let the boy play "fire man" with the huge hose

After which it was time for his present from my Brother in-law. He finished making a custom dune buggy out of a go-kart chassis. He stretched the frame both ways by about 9 inches. Gave it some awesome huge wheels and customized the entire thing for him. Needless to say the boy was ecstatic.

I was following him on a 250cc dirt bike while he was tearing up the mowed 10 acres on the front of the land. For his first time driving he was doing awesome! After he had enough of that he wanted to go for a short ride with me on the dirt bike.

Then it was time to put some hard work and training into practice! My .22 (Remington 597 outfitted in Archangle) and his .22 (Savage JR) :D

We have been training safety since he was 2 and this was the first he was able to shoot a real gun. His first shot (beginners luck) he smoked the resetting targets. After that he wanted a greater challenge and wasn't able to hit the further targets.

After putting some rounds down range he asked if he could try mine. He wasn't strong enough to steady it, so I gave him a hand. He loved it lol.

He started to get a little tired and wanted to go for a ride in a 4 wheeler through the bush. He loves off roading and the brother has a little Suzuki Tracker that he has modded up nice.

Drove him through the swamp a few times and then he stared to get tired.

We ended up leaving shortly after and got him some ice cream on the way home. After finishing his ice cream he passed right out for the last hour of the drive home lol. Now he's in the bath getting ready for an early bed time because he is beyond tired lol!

Awesome day
