Grilled marinated pork loin, kale salad, half an avocado.
not bad. nope.

Smile on his face still as hes KO'd at 1938pm lol! Thanks guys! Was an awesome day with the wee man.

Ok... I'm convinced somebody upstairs really really loves me, or really really loves messing with me....

Just as I sit down with a rum and coke to relax for the night after my full day of awesomeness, my fully asleep son gets up and starts bouncing around the house. Next my 38 week pregnant wife starts barking at me to clean the house, then doubles over in pain from a contraction haha!

No rest for the wicked it seems!

hit a decent medium-rare with the other half of the NY strip tonight. did the kale as salad with cubed cheddar instead, which was better.

Cheddah IS bettah!

I have a cryo 1, never really liked it. Too heavy. A bit fond of surface rust as well.

I've never had a rust issue with any of the dozen or more Kershaws I own.....maybe it's a bum blade?

Just scored a Rigid scroll saw at a yard sale for $12.

Carry on.

Jeremy

Now that is a great find....if it's working and you don't have to spend a $100 bucks for parts. Spent the afternoon removing my pool pump to put in a seal kit, and found out the impeller/diffuser are compromised. Part is no longer being manufactured...upgrade kit is $120. Perhaps craigslist will save me.

Damn, he's gonna remember that for the rest of his life. Super Dad!

Got back about an hour ago from seeing the cabin. It's pretty cool, at least to me it is, but it does need a little work. Mostly painting, and of course, the yard needs cleaned up big time. It overlooks the river valley, and you can see some rock outcroppings, but the some of the trees/brush need cleaned up to make it easier to see. Apparently, the couple that own it are in their 80's, and can't really use it anymore. I knew it was small, but damn, I didn't realize how small it is. It's maybe 10 feet long, by 8 feet wide, haha. No joke. Has a decent size sleeping loft. I've slept in smaller ones. Most of the wood looks new, and is in good shape. The cabin, and outbuilding have metal on the sides, and metal roofs, which is good. The gables on the ends of the cabin aren't in bad shape, but need painted. It looks like a branch may have fell out, and dented the gutter. The gutters collect water in a tank. Another thing I like, is the seclusion. It's on probably a quarter mile long lane, twisting and winding, then there's a locked gate, and only two cabins back there. I got to it in the wife's car, but it was a bumpy ride. Anywhos, we liked it, and I made an offer. Said I should hear back within a few days. I'll post a few photos later on.

Hope you hear good news on your offer Dubz. That sounds like a fun place to be and an awesome project!

As for myself, I learned how to throw a tomahawk today and now I'm obsessed with getting a few of my own...damn, I find a new thing to be obsessed with every week.

Man if it's the real deal, you could be in for a long night. Hope it goes quickly and easily!

Sounds like a little piece of heaven Dubs. I hope it works out.

Thanks man, I was surprised how big the lot is too. I knew it was 2.63 acres, and I thought it was all on a steep pitch, but it isn't. Towards the back it's on a slant, but by no means steep.

That sounds awesome. I would love nothing better than a secluded, out of the way cabin in the woods. Small or not, sounds a little like heaven to me. Got my fingers and toes crossed for ya.

Thanks man, I hope we get it. Pretty stoked.

My grandpa bought a cabin and a couple hundred acres a few years ago that the whole family uses and I love it up there, it's about 5 mikes from a little town with nothing but 2 restaurants and a grocery store, it has electricity but the only thing we use it for is AC in the summer and heat when it gets super cold in the winter the rest of the time we use the wood stove. I absolutely love it up there, we are actually going Tory and head up there this next week end

Okay, cabin photos. These first two are driving up the lane. Like I said, it's about a quarter mile to the cabin off the main road:

This is not my photo, but here's the lane going up to the cabin:

Did I say micro cabin, haha? Note that it's wrapped in metal, and how good of shape the main beams are for the supports. The gables could use a painting, or at least water sealed:

4.png

There's enough room on the side of the cabin to build on, if needed. You can see how the gutters are routed to pipes for water collection:

5.png

The other side. It's actually in great shape, but the gutter is dented more than likely from a fallen branch. You can see the water tank to the left of the porch. There's also a wood box to the right:

Walking back:

Looking out from the cabin porch towards the outbuilding. The outbuilding has a shower in it, but I didn't get photos. There were hornets swarming, and one stung the realtor right on the tip of the nose:

The water tank:

Walking in, there's a small broom closet behind the door, and you can see the little fireplace to the right:

Fireplace, that looks unused:

Looking towards the bathroom, and kitchen:

16.png

The loft. There's a skylight to the upper left, with a 12volt fan:

Looking out towards the hills. You can sorta see the rock outcroppings right of center on the second photo:

Here's the layout. 230x495 foot lot. You can see the outline, and that little green box on the left is the cabin. It slopes dramatically behind the cabin, but slopes less as it goes up. You can see the river in the upper left hand corner:

Finally, some cool little buggy we saw in DeSoto:
