Congrats to you and the family, TBL!

I'm getting a little homesick now... I decided to settle down in Texas when I retired from the Army, but grew up in that area. My folks still have a house on 12 acres near the town of Oermann (named after my great-grand uncle), which is just south of Dittmer on Highway 30. My maternal grandparents lived in Herculaneum, and I believe my mom was born in Desoto. It seems that St Louis creeps closer to home every time I go back to visit. The big thing I miss (every once in a while) is the four distinct seasons. Here in Texas, we mostly have two seasons (hot and cold), with a pretty short transition between them.

We stopped in Herculanuem and got gas on the way there, off 55 south, and stopped and ate in DeSoto on 21, on the way back.

Congrats on the nino.

Still no snake.

Spike, do you still need a sheath? Don't really feel like hunting back 10 pages. If so send me a pm.

Do any of you heads that have owned snakes know if they would try and eat chicken blood catfish bait balls?

I doubt it, I've had snakes, and know lots about 'em. Try mice, or get some bedding that came from mice, or something that smells like mice, and put Crickets in the trap for movement. See if that works. You won't starve him out, he can go years without eating. But try mouse smell and Bugs or Frogs for movement.

Hope this helps!

Congrats TBL!!!!!

You almost made it to the 1st too!! Tomorrow is my Daughters Birthday LOL

That snake could be long gone Tank. He's probably mouse hunting or just looking for a nice place to chill. We used to have a six foot albino corn snake and it was the most docile, tame and lovable thing in the world. She loved petting and crawling in my sweatshirt.

MM, I have had my share of snakes as well.... going YEARS without eating, is a stretch... How long a snake can go without food mainly depends on its age and species. A young snake or small snake would only be able to go a few weeks without food. Most adult snakes can easily go several months without eating. Large snake species like pythons and boas can sometimes go up to a year without eating.

But i wouldnt be testing this, trying to see how long he can go hungry either.

Yeah, I doubt he'll stick around. I had an Albino corn snake one time, awesome pet, but we got him in the winter and I was to ignorant to keep his tank warm, and all he did was sit on the heat pad, I thought he'd be more active in a larger enclosure, and less secure. Long story short, the cat ate him. :(

Yeah, but being young I tend to exaggerate thing a bit. The record is like 3 years, and some months. Some Viper or something.

What snakes have you had? I thought about getting into breeding Ball pythons, but Knives stole all my money! :D

Now i guess ill go mail you a knife :D

Dont cut yourself with it :p

Best thing I've heard all week! Thanks!

Rofl thanks brother! My son has his birthday on the 1st. Looks like we got another thing in common other then the same wedding date haha!

We got away with telling him that his new sibling wanted to be invited to his birthday party haha!

I have twice now over the course of about 2 months-ish found this same snakes skin along my fence. I watched it crawl right into my wall like there should be a little fricken mailbox with the name Mr. Snake on it. I think it's rather comfy where it is but I could be wrong. I'll have to see what I can do for bait now.

Spike, email is gmd19k at yahoo dot com

Man that is CRAZY. I think you were spying on me gathering Intel on how to make the worldwood family  :D

I've never had a rust issue with any of the dozen or more Kershaws I own.....maybe it's a bum blade?

Not sure. It was on the edge AND the blade, even though it's coated? I've got plenty of blades in 8cr13, and this one was the first to rust on me. Just by sitting in the drawer. Cleaned it up and put some oil on it and there hasn't been any rust since. But I haven't used it since then either...

Ugh, I have a choice between staying home for The 4th for 30 bucks sick dog sitting, or go to the fireworks, and Diner with my aunt, and cousins. I really need Firesteels, going outside with justa Bic doesn't feel the same. And besides, Chicks dig Firesteels, and big words like "Ferrocerium", like "watch this, I'm gonna start this fire with my great big Ferrocerium rod" :p

Ugh.

Good luck on the cabin bidding, Warrior!
Congratulations to TBL's wife on the new kid!!!

Very nice! Let's see the dress side!

Never. Me being a knife porn purveyor? Poppycock.

Nice. I cannot say enough good things about Kershaw knives. Is that a I or a II? I don't have either yet but I have a few other kershaws. I'd like to get a Cryo I g10 and a blackwashed II

It's a I, but those were the ones I was eyeballing as well!
This one was just on sale and I couldn't resist. :p
