So I confirmed today my time off. Gonna head up to Oregon for a family reunion the first weekend of August where my uncle has a house that is right at the base of the mountains. They don't even bother trailering the ATV's, it's close enough to just ride them down the road a short ways. After that weekend gonna jet over to my hometown where I grew up and spend three weeks hanging out there.

That sounds awesome, I have driven through Oregon once and it was really beautiful..

The "under the dome" season premier turned out pretty good though!!! Now i understand why Steven King said no characters are safe too :eek: they will kill off ANYONE.

Move that to Colorado and id be much more interested. Id start a farm. Call it Woody's M&M farm. One of those Ms stand for Mangoes, you can guess the other "M" LMAO.... For extra income id go to bigger towns and set up my mango stand right next to the weed shops with handouts explaining terpenes. Id hand them to each person coming out the shops and sell my mangoes a dollar more expensive than supermarket prices each .....And id prolly be a millionaire in a few weeks LMAO

To be fair, the Black Hills are nice! I would live in that area... in the Spring and Fall. Summer you can GFY! Winter as well is an "Oh hell no"!

Biscuit, I saw you were talking about the drama of youth baseball and would like to offer a tidbit I picked up. Teach your kids a good quality flop. A bad swinging strikeout or being picked off should be immediately followed by agonizing screams and grabbing a knee, ankle, or hamstring. It works on a close play if they can flop fast enough to influence an umpire too. I taught my kids to even let the coaches carry them off the field occaisionally. They can then limp back onto the field for the next inning and look like a trooper. Don't underestimate an Oscar worthy flop. :thumbup:

Thanks guys. I can't believe I'm going to be a cabin owner. We've talked about this for years. Trade, it's about 16 miles to Taum Sauk, and just a few miles to Mark Twain National Forest. Damn I'm pumped. You guys would shit your pants if you knew what I gave for this. I lucked out, big time.

I know property down here goes for STUPID cheap, I've seen 2 acres (No cabin) go for as little as $2k. Not even gonna guess on your place but that is more badass than badass Dubz, congrats on the purchase!

Thanks man. It was more than 2k, haha, but still a hell of a deal. Cool thing is, I can put half down, and my monthly is gonna be stupid cheap.

So what did you give for it? Or is it rude to ask that? Im just curious what a good deal on something like that is, i look up deals on land all the time. But never with structures already on them. Maybe you can give a window if you dont wanna say?? 10-30 grand... 30-75 grand 75-150 grand.... ?? If not no worries at all im just curious.

I got my 1.25 acre near the Goethe Forest in Florida for 12,000 a few years ago. Im still paying on that, almost over though.... But now, a couple blocks from my property, further from the forest, another property is for sale. Same size and not as nicely wooded IMO yet it still cost 27,900. So im real happy with the deal i got.

But i found 2.5 acres thats already fenced, and already has its own well and septic a few miles from there that is 45000.... Thats quite a bit more than the 12 im giving for the 1.25... But i still have been looking at it HARD. Its owned by the same people im getting the one property from. They said if im interested they would transfer the money i already paid on the 1.25 acres towards the 2.5 and my payments could stay the same since im paying quite a bit over the minimum anyways. It would just take longer to pay it off. But the fence is nice, having a well and septic already is really nice, the cleared homesite is nice.... All this would/will cost me money on the 1.25.... And the 2.5 is more land of course LOL.... But i dont think ill let the 1.25 go. Its literally 1 block from the forest and ill have no neighbors, for now anyways. The other property is a few miles away. And someone lives on the property next to it. But its wooded pretty good so there is still some privacy.... I told them if i get another property id most likely still keep the 1.25. But im always looking..... Man now im just rambling on.... :D

I seen 5 acres for sale for 1800 in Colorado the other day!!! Its in the middle of nowhere though, as could be expected at that price.

I wish i could find a deal like that where im wanting to live.

I still wish i grabbed those 2.5 acres i was looking at in Missouri for 6500 near the Lake of the Ozarks. That would of made an excellent spot for a vacation cabin.

The wife and I are looking for places. I'm hoping to have a garage, yard and dog by the end of the year. I wouldn't mind a place out in the sticks, but it doesn't seem like that's going to be happening right now.
