What's the difference between a momma grizley and an Alaskan mom? A pink axe sheath by RJDankert

Haven't worked in leather for 25 years but wanted a sheath for an axe I am working on for my brother so broke down and made this.

ETA: I am not the one building my saddle! I only wish...

That's gonna be one helluva saddle!

Now you need to hook up with your local chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen. Put some of those fine axes to work carving trails.

Thanks, Guys.

I agree. Some day when we have lives that aren't totally consumed by our work...

I like that idea

Thanks. I added a pic to my original post; maybe I can do it again.

They're in the upper right.
I like this trick because it's quick and easy and compact (I use a leather-puncher for the holes.) Once you've run over a good hose a couple of times with your snow-thrower, the materials are very cheap.

Here's two I made. I have made 3 of the red style sheath before I tried the style with the strap. I like the strap style better and will be making more when I get some more leather.

Here is a picture of a kydex mask I made awhile back. I never seem to have enough time to do what needs to get done. I decided to buy , yes I know - why buy for ten bucks what you can make for a hundred lol - a couple of sheaths for a hatchet and axe I cart around the most.
Cost was good, I figured if they were crap I could at least use them as templates because I liked the style. Happily surprised with the quality- won't have to worry about accidents in the back of the van with these sheaths.

That's some really nice tooling work, Shmellor. Well done. And I love the vintage handle on that Fulton. Fulton was Sears Roebuck's main line of axes before they bought the Craftsman name in the late 20's. I think they continued to produce both lines for some years after that.
