Know what this thread needs? Puppies! Hell yeah. This is my new bird dog. We're picking her up from the breeder next weekend.

Great looking dog Mikey! I have a soft spot for yella labs, I had a very beloved Yella Lab when I was a kid...great dogs IMO

military vacuum flask. should be amusing for later :)

hey thrill, local 'mart was selling off those beetle spinner things for 50% off. plus some other doodads.

before too long, i might have to buy a larger tackle box than the one i had as a kid from the early 1970s :)

MikeyJ, that guy will make one hell of a bird dog and companion. I don't think I've ever met a lab I didn't like. Congrats.

Bladdy, forget tackle boxes...buy a couple tackle flats...then u can stick them in a backpack or a maxped murse. Its way more mobile then a tackle box, the flats are 3-10 dollars...buy the better quality ones, not the real off-brands. the 'mart's flats are just fine.

all sorts of sizes and shapes.

This will be at Ethan's this weekend?

I wish, but I just got the barrel order in yesterday. GM barrels are hard to find at the moment, especially the ones under 20".
I found an 18" one like I wanted here in TN. Only bad part was the added sales tax, but hey, somebody's got to pay for schools and roads.

Yeah, she's got a great pedigree...2 master hunters on the sire's side. But she'll be a family companion first, and an hunting/hiking companion second. We spoil our dogs rotten 'round here!

What are ya gonna use her for? All birds? Or upland or ducks\geese?

Oops, I missed the "her", too busy looking at the pictures. Few things in this world are cuter than a new puppy.

Mostly upland. I'm getting her started on pheasant wings as soon as she comes home, but we'll do quail, dove, pheasant, and some water-fowlin' sooner or later.

In the morning, I'm heading down to Carbondale to try to find a place to live this fall.
On the way back, I plan to stop by GP knives. Anyone ever go there? How patient are they with people who always ask to fondle their knives?

saw those, including some that had VERY waterproof looking seals (float, never sink) - for $5, better than an otter box to keep the cell phone/etc safe.

my little tackle box is full of nostalgia, and now also various toys, and trinkets for the time being. probably will end up with flats and a "toat" for them as well (shoulder strap is good), probably about the time i have to start sorting shit by size/weight of hooks, lures, and stuff.

found an old hemostat for de-hooking. did like the look of those new fangled ones. also a pair of safety shears for cutting stuff. i'm of the mindset of tying stuff on, though, i also got some swivels in case i change my mind.

i'm definitely not going to get all obsessed with fishing just yet. too many other hobbies and stuff to account for.

Those water-proof boxes u saw Work, I have a few. Great for .22 ammo storage too. I hate swivels, never use em, wont own em.

Very cool. My brother just got a GSP a couple months ago for upland. Keep us updated!

what a busy day, goodies in the mail, worked on organizing the "woman cave" and I got flowers from the man! (first time in 3.5 years O.O)
