Honorable mention thread

This place --well, actually the people here-- is --are-- the best!

Shoot (or stab?) your television and enjoy Baldeforums more often.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

Amen Brother! Can I just shoot my cable box...I need my TV to watch my collection of Hoods Woods videos I just traded into! Great so far!!

I really can't believe that nobody has mentioned Pict. Screw it, Pict you are right at the top of my list, no BS. Although I don't often open Utube (slow connection). I have learned quite a bit from you, most importantly the Arapuca. For all the things you have shown me, I thank you.

And Riley and tonym, any help I might be able to pass along to you is obligatory due to your keenness to learn and practise.

And, of course, I am always keen to read the postings of my fellow Canucks -............. at this point I deleted all the names I had already typed because, 1. I'm old and my memory sucks. 2. the lateness of the hour (I have to go to bed soon) and 3. impaired memory due to the demon rum (vodka in this case ), so let's just say, I am keen to read the postings of all my fellow Canucks.

Doc

I cant bleieve I forgot you...thats the fun of this..or atleast thats how I envisioned it, no pressure, and no bad feelings...I truly wouldnt for a minute expect any thanks..most of the time I chime in to make a joke, or make a stand against the tide (always a losing battle!)..I might show off some new blade or gear..but mostly, I drink in the knowledge!!!
Doc, your a big part of the comunity, and so is pict!

Got to give dougo83 a thumbs up for starting the Pay it Forward deal.

I second or third most all the members here.:)

gunknifenut, hola

That was very kind, thanks. I did read that a while ago but I have rules against posting at specific times. :-)

I echo the sentiments that have been expressed by previous posters. We are fortunate to have such a laid-back, friendly, and knowledgeable bunch of regulars, and I always enjoy reading about pitdog's wanderings, Doc's musings on local flora, siguy's sharpening adventures, and everyone's trip reports, knife reviews, and photo-essays. I'm not going to try to compile a long list, as it will doubtless wind up being incomplete anyway.

Instead, I will give an honourable mention to all those who go out of their way to share their knowledge and experiences, those who are unquestioningly generous and ready to support other members, and those who just like to talk about the outdoors in good company.

I think that should cover just about everyone.

All the best,

- Mike

Thats very cool, looks like our soldiers march to the same drum beat:eek:
Our due date is March 13th..but both of us think Feb 23-26th!! That would be cool if they were born on the same day...very cool.
Oh, and Raindog (Dave) you were one of the first friends I made on Bladeforums..thanks.

Yeah, it just might work out that way! That would be freaky! Anyhoo, keep me posted on the latest, and I'll send a pic your way when our little one arrives. I'll drop you a line this summer, I'll be out in MA for a bit of vacation and I SWEAR TO GOD we are gonna get together this time!

I know that is nowhere near all the people I can think of, but I thanks go out to you non-the less.

Gene,

Great post! I've been gone for a while, but I missed the crap out of a lot of the people here. I think most of the people who responded to this post are on my list, and couple who didn't like Pict and KGD.. Its a great bunch of folks, some of us just have fun talking about steel, and some impart some valuable info! Thanks...

I can't really think of a list of people that I want to write out. I'm pretty much a noob compared to most of you on WS&S so I like to soak it all in from all the feedback and tips that I see posted here.

A big thanks to everyone here and for helping to make a more experienced and knowledgeable outdoorsman.

Too many to list. I enjoy all of the pictures and reviews people post, especially in busy times. They help soothe the ache of not being able to get outside myself.

Damn, How could I forget Brandon!!!!

Sorry dude. I will make it up to you with a MRE when we meet up again. ;)

Magnussen, Riley, Esav, Brian, Bryan, stomper, bearthedog, mtnfolk mike, Jake, Tony,aw man, the list could go on and on.

Most especially for some particulars:

Tonym and andrew helped a lot when my shop got ran over, Esav and riley have both been supportive of other stuff- my son is a very happy camper. Mtnfolk mike and breathedog got me to punch up on making knives a lot. Magnussen has been great for bouncing ideas off of. Koyote Girl saved me when she started doing sheaths and has been great fun to relearn some outdoors stuff with.
