Horrible decision..knife or gun?

I have my concealed permit for both oregon and Washington but I do not really carry. I just want the Tomcat for what i call a "glove box" gun for my truck.

If that is what you're going to use th gun for, then get the knife. The Tomcat is a very easy to carry, small hangun. Like someone else said, if you're not going to carry it and its going to sit in the truck get a revolver in .38/.357 or a Makarov in 9MM Mak caliber.

I already have a S&W .357 mag, a Taurus .38, a Beretta 9mm 92fs (super fine looking weapon), and a NAA mini .22 mag. The reason I am considering the Tomcat is the larger guns will fit in my glove box but if you ever need to carry them out (like at a truck stop or rest area) they are a bit too obvious. The little .22 mag is nice and small but is actually a little painful to fire. Plus, I love the look of the Tomcat. Looks like my 9mm had a baby.

Knowing nothing about guns, I asked my wife's uncle about his choice of pistol to carry. He is a homicide detective here in minneapolis. On duty he is required to carry the department specified weapon, but when he's off duty he carries a Beretta 21L loaded with stingers. He said that guns like a .38 or a 9mm if they don't hit something vital, just punch a hole in you. He likes the stingers because they have a tendancy to "rattle" around inside you rather than just punching a hole. I figured that since his job is checking out dead people & what killed them, he probably knows what he is talking about. No offense meant to high caliber type guys, it's just what I was told & I'll pass it on for whatever it's worth. Regards, Kalis

Is the Tomcat also made in .380? I'd take this over a .32 anyday!

not being a beretta fan I'd say get the knife. w+h makes some really fine folders. now if you said glock or or sig or HK then....

I sold my Tomcat. Nice enough gun, but the trigger must be pulled so far back to fire it that it is very awkward. I have carry permit and carry a .38 snubby. I like the .32 round and it is more effective than most believe. The AMAZING .32 is the Kel-Tec. It is dinky, light as a feather and nearly MATCH accurate. The first round I shot out of my buddy's was a perfect center. An AMAZING lil gun.

But this doesn't answer your question. If you have a gun of any kind, get the knife is my opinion. The knife will not save you from bad guys though. Only a gun will do that unless you are VERY trained in knife fighting.

Ugh!!! I hate being torn in two different directions. I am trying to decide whether to blow my tax refund (the small part not ear marked for property taxes) on a new William and Henry folder or a new Beretta Tomcat .32...What is a guy to do that loves both blades and firearms. Life just isn't fair. Why counldn't I have been born rich instead of pretty.

Solution is simple: file your state tax and get second return.
This is what we do in CT

Since you already have several guns then I would go for the knife. Actually, if you have more guns than knives, get the knife. If you have more knives than guns, get the gun. If you really like the knife more than the gun (you ultimately have to decide) get it!

See, life is simple. :D

Dude the TOMCAT THE TOMCAT.....I love guns alot and I do like that....WH is nice too but I'll take a gun over ALMOST any knife anyday but like everything in life there's exceptions but I think you'll enjoy the gun better.

It depends. If you're going to a gunfight, or even a knife fight, take the gun. :D If you're going camping, take the knife.

Forget about a Tomcat. Get an Alley Cat by Beretta. Much better sights.

Wait until you get addicted to flashlights. I vote for the gun. If Hillary gets elected she will ban those first.

One..Hillary will not get elected. I hope she does not try.
Two...Why would she ban handguns. If you check your history liberals have done more to insure personal freedoms than republicans ever have. All liberals have ever done is try to keep handguns out of the hands of criminals via background checks and waiting periods. Why are some people so easily manipulated that they will accept their personal lives being spied upon as "neccesay to ensure freedom" but then allow themselves to be coerced into a furor over a background check that they enter into knowingly.

Tell that to the gun-owners in San Francisco!

I have a CCW permit today because of George Bush. Our liberal former governor vetoed it after it was passed in the legislature but George said if he was elected he would sign it and he did.

Also, if you don't believe liberals will take your guns just pay attention and read what Shumer, Kennedy, Feinstein and Kerry said about it.

PlayboyPenguin you couldn't be more WRONG! Liberals the champions of gun rights? WRONG! Wake the frack up!

Oh yea--get a real gun--a Glock. Not that sissy .32 crap.

I was a history major in college (before deciding that was a waste of time) and I can tell you that you need to really look up the facts before spouting off. You can always site a few acceptions to any fact. I do admit that the far left wackos have managed to have some victories but mainly because far right wackos pave the way (like weirdos that want to go grocery shopping with a colt .45 strapped to their thigh). But it was liberals from george Washington on down that gave you the right to own a gun. Only in recent history has the right wing tried to make a big stink out of gun ownership. States that were traditionally democratic states like Mississippi, Alabama, West virginia and others where the pioneers or gun rights laws. Do not trust the right wing to keep you armed. They would love a weak population that could not defend itself against tyranical corporations which are allowed to build their own private armies. I do not see why both sides have to be so far to one side. I think most people could all be happy with being able to keep what you want in your home and being able to get a permit to carry small concealed weapons after passing a background check and safety test. I don't think most of us gun lovers want to turn this into an old west movie and I think most of us realize that a large portion of the population is not competent to carry a weapon (either do to emotional instability, immaturity or just lack of firearm experience). I also belive that the vast majority of people belive that the govt should stay out of what we keep in our own home as far as weapons go and limit their involvement to issuing permits for concealed carry and limiting sales of full autos and armor piercing shells, etc..the type of weapons only used in criminal endeavors.

P.S. Glock??? Why dont I just buy a plastic bb gun? pretty much the same thing, right? :0)
