Yes sir! That Sonoran Belt Knife worked great for your brother looks like. Quite a buck he got this year! The Sonoran Belt knife was initially designed as a branding knife but when a friend talked me into making a hunting set we worked together and came up with The Sonoran Hunter and Skinner and then he said now we need a caper. I said already got that. Pulled out my template for what is now The Sonoran Belt Knife and he said yep we're done. This is a guy That has hunted darn near everywhere in the world and fly fished too. His nickname for the Sonoran Skinner was the Trout Zipper.

Here's a couple of newbs that I've never offered before. They are in this batch currently on the website. I call these Poco Toothpicks. Either one would make an ideal Bird and Trout or a caper. They are very similar in shape to my popular Cowboy Toothpick but the dimensions are different, They are a little smaller hence the Poco Toothpick name. First one is in elk:

The second is in Black Walnut:

Kind of a funny deal. One of the things I'm proud of in this knife making endeavor is I have had very few returns, maybe four or five literally out of thousands of knives and sheaths. I do have a model named the Poco. For those that don't know poco is Spanish for small or short. I was on the phone to a guy in Texas and he was looking for a knife. At the time I had several knives available and he settled on a Poco. Here's a current couple on the website. This one in Turkish Walnut that I posted above:

Here is another in Blackwood:

Anyways, he gets the knife and he calls up and wants to exchange it for a Coyote. He says it's just too small for what he wanted to use it for, hunting pigs. I kinda laughed and said you know it's a Poco? Yeah. You know what Poco means? I didn't figure I'd have to explain what Poco means to a guy in TX. Yeah I know what it means, I just didn't figure that the Poco was gonna be that poco! The Coyote worked out good for him.

Some great knives and photographs. Nice to see some wood handles making it into the mix.
Thanks! I counted seven different wood species in that last batch. I do have a good selection of wood in stock in the shop at any given time. Large amounts of walnut, both Turkish and Black, Bocote, and Mesquite and smaller amounts of others. I have a very large amount of Apitong but seldom use it. It looks like rather plain mesquite but is as bullet proof as wood gets. Darn near anything proof, insects, uv light, weather etc just not terribly exciting as wood grain goes. Its used for big rig flatbed truck floors as well as crossbeams on power/telephone poles.

Something a little new/different, thought I'd show ya guys. I don't really do a pocket sheath but I did have a request from a very special customer. JD cowboys up in Montana and has been a strong supporter of ours for like 25 years. He was the one that started our Pay it Forward campaign on spur straps with Challenge coins. Have I told that story here? Let me know. Anyhoo also really chasing retention too as he'd like to wear his Gordos upside down on his suspenders.

Anyhoo JD found this new kind of jean that had a built in knife pocket. He bought a new Gordo off the website and asked me to make an additional sheath for it, a Horizontal but no belt loop on the back. He wanted it rough out and the back layer to be 5.5" long to fit the pocket. Here's what I came up with:

Plain and simple.

Interesting about the suspender carry. 🤔🤠

I often joke about being semi retired these days because I make small batches of knives, usually around 12 or so. This is at Nichole's insistence and it is easier on the old guy. Was scrolling through some pics just now and came across these. They are both Christmas batches. I had a friend at the time who said that if he had to get all that out by Christmas that you'd find him curled up in the fetal position under the bed! It was just normal around here. Some years were so busy we stoped taking orders in August for Christmas.

Beautiful work as always.
In the top photo, what is the 4th in from left on the bottom row?
Thanks
Thanks! Thats a Castrator, or in cowboy vernacular a “nutter.” I haven’t made any in some time as I don’t really hollow grind anymore. That blade absolutely screams hollow grind me. Think straight razor with a better handle. In this case camel bone.
