Thanks! That link in there for the trailer on that documentary is really cool!
Yes it is. When's the documentary going to be out? I'd really like to see it.

Good deal David glad ya enjoyed that. That documentary has been out for some time, 2019 I believe.

Thanks on the knives! Got them finished yesterday and the sheaths well started.

Ya bet! Didn't have time this morning to find some pics but here is Ben with a Horsewright Paisano at a duck hunt. He's also wearing a Horsewright wildrag.

Here's the pommel bags I made him. Basically saddle bags for the front of the saddle. These fit over the saddle horn. These were very popular in early California for carrying cap and ball revolvers:

Dave, which of your machines do you like to use for woolies? What aspects of working with hair-on leather are different from the other types you use? Those look warm!

I actually use both my Cobra 4 (the big machine) and our Cobra 18, a smaller flatbed machine on woolies and chinks, (short chaps). Other types of leggings like AZ Bells, or shotguns I might use both or maybe just the 18 depends on the leather types and styles. Charmitas like this pair here is almost always just the 18. These were finished bout a week ago..

That pair of woolies above I used both machines on. The belts were sewn on with the 4 and the rest of the sewing was done on the 18. I can tell by looking at the pics based on thread size and stitch size.

Finished off the Elk Guides and the steak knives:

I thought you might might have gone with a knife roll for the steak knives.
Then again with those sheaths. I can see 1 in the back pocket out in a garden collecting fresh vegetables.
More fine work Dave!

Yes sir I can do a roll. Just depends on what the folks want. I have another order for eight steak knives that I'm getting ready to start on and they asked for a roll. I call that type of sheath a Slip Sheath and it's all friction retention but I do have the pattern down well enough that you could certainly use it for the pocket in the garden. We have a set of eight on the kitchen counter in wooden blocks. They often get grabbed for paring knife uses not just meat. Thank you!

Great pic my friend. I did some experimenting with that Elk Guide in ironwood and the late afternoon sun:

Thank you sir. Just finished two belts for a guy that was here for some training, (there's a company here that trains technicians for the windmill industry). He's just out of the Army and does some leather work too. So when he stopped by to place the order for these two belts I gave him the tour of all the machines. He was kinda fascinated. Our deal is a lil different than sitting at the kitchen table doing some tooling. He picked them up two nights ago as he's all done with his training and heading back to TX.

The two belts he ordered:

Dave, do you offer an open top, vertical carry sheath for a Buck 110? I checked your website but did not find one?
Thanks

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Rick
