Jeremey that is a sweet rifle. I am in the process of wanting to build a tatical long range rifle. Looking at starting with a savage 308 with the accutrigger. Want to be able to complete it with the scope for under $1500.

Good Luck Mike - what optic will you use?

Not sure what optic yet. thinking about leupold or a Bushnell elite 4500. I know my main cost for this project is going to be the optics.

Awesome Rick :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

BCM hammer forged stuff last a lifetime :)

Why the absolute co-witness?

Why the absolute co-witness?

gotta smokin deal on it:D

if you are referring to having a lower aimpoint mount so the dot sits on the top of the front sight, i like that better. i could see using the "lower 1/3" mounts if you have a fixed front sight that might block your vision when looking through the optic, but with flip front and rear sights, i like the lower aimpoint mount. you have less of a discrepancy between point of aim and point of impact at CQB distances. i independently zero my irons and red dot. i wouldn't trust the "co witness" method of zeroing one or the other. ymmv
