Havent been over here for a while. Looked through this thread, and figured I'd put in my two cents.

As rlarge10 put it, happy switches make me happy! H&K 416 with Aimpoint Comp M4. Need to find a pic of my 40mm GL too..

We started issuing the 416 about two years back. The G3 was way over due for a replacement if you ask me, but I wish we'd gone with the 417, which chambers the same 7.62x51mm cartridge. Instead, that is now a dedicated marksmans rifle in Norway. We still use the MG-3 though.. Need to find a pic of that one:p Old, but incredible MG.

Nice to "see" you guys again! Been a rough 10 months above the polar circle..

Edit; Now that momma is out the picture, and been so for a year, the baby horsie is long gone:P

That's right:) The MG-3. Not exactly modern nowadays though. We'll issue either the M249 SAW or the H&K MG4 some time soon. With the MG3 being chambered for 7.62, you need two guys on the system. One spotter/feeder/ammo carrier and a gunner. The thing about the MG3 is that it spits out 20-23 7.62 rounds a second... That is still afaik unheard of, even in the newer 5.56 MG's.
