hey koug
don't they issue you guys back up iron sights in case the aimpoint craps out?! I see you have a front flip sight, but no rear.....

eta which one are you in the pic? kneeling with the GL or standing with the GL? is the guy in the front center the designated marksman(he's the only one with a magnified optic)?

On the 416 they have a compartment inside the pistol grip for the rear sight. Once we zero them in, we go on to the aimpoint and stash it there. People tend to lose those kinda things:P

Im they guy kneeling.

The guy with the 3x magnifier is our second team leader. He is in charge of the MG crew, and also acts as a spotter/fire corrector. Right now I'm also running the 3x and I gave the 40mm to my partner. I'm carrying an M72 LAW instead:)

Always crack me up, finding pics like these,,,:D

thanks for the details man! 66mm rocket FTW! since that's you in the front, you should kick the guys ass behind you for having his finger on the bang switch while his rifle is pointed at your ass:eek::D

Yeah, lack of trigger control pisses me off.. The rifles werent loaded though(at least not with live ammo:P)

I taught some more basic classes this weekend and made some interesting observations. The only weapons we had issues with were H&Ks. We had a MK23 that was failing to eject/extract and two P7s that were failing to feed/eject. This stuff makes me like Glocks even more. :)

When people don't take care of their business it sometimes reflects subjectively

I'll put a P7M8 up against a G17 anyday - just try to keep up :D

I don't have a G17, but I have a 19, 34, and 21 I'd put against a P7. Bruce you should come up for a class. If your P7 beats my glocks, the class is on the house. ;). Don't get me wrong, I love guns of all flavors, but as far as reliability goes, glocks are tough to beat.

I know there were alot of P7 police users that hit the US market last year and I wonder if one made it to your class. My Dad's Glock 22 failed after 100 rounds down the pipe - It was carried for a couple of years and apparently became too dirty to fire. A good cleaning took care of the problem.

I have Glocks too and agree, they have a good reliability record. They are just not my favorite to shoot.

I am curious though as to what problems the HK's did have? The squeeze cocker on the P7 is a different animal. I could imagine one might also have an occasional limp wrist issue after shooting the HK23 for awhile due to the size of the gun.

,,,and maybe they had tinkered on the H&K's to improve them ? ;)

I mean, have you seen the turture testing which H&K does with their firearms !?!

I've had my USP 9mm since 1996 and have shot various brands of factory ammo through it without as much as a single misfeed or ejection problem,,, 'nuff said :D

ps: okay, I don't shoot every day, nor do I shoot a 1000rnds at a time, but I'm not the neatest guy on the block with my firearms either,,,
