Was looking at the ruger 10/22 and then saw that thing.
My kid wants to get the parts to convert a 1022 into something like
that anyway,so maybe its better to just get that thing to start with?

I read a bunch of good reviews about that gun, but you have limited trigger/barrel/target stock options. Fug, if I still have it, I can send you the American Rifleman review of it. The 10/22 will be a better shooter and you can upgrade it to an awesome shooter. If you buy an AR, you can buy a .22 drop in for $200. Then you would have 2 guns.

Thanks
What kind of AR am I supposed to be looking at
I need pictures :D
I have no idea what caliber an AR is,but
im pretty sure you cant shoot that at an indoor range.
if thats the case,I probably will never get a chance to shoot it.

Most AR are .223 of 5.56, but they also make them in other calibers. All you need to do is switch uppers. Your right about most ranges, but there are some ranges that allow .223.

I really think the best option is a regular 10/22 (around $230) and a few cans of Tactical Krylon (yes they make it) it a few camo colors for your kid to customize it. I also like the Ruger Target Tactical (around $400). It is a 10/22 target rifle in a black Hogue stock, target trigger and a bipod. You still have to buy optics for the Target Tactical, but optics for a .22 can be inexpensive. I'm going to buy .22 drop in for my AR and a Target Tactical when I sell a couple Busses (anyone interested in a NMSFNO, OJ Game Warden, bone handled Cultie, Hortonized Muskrat, or NMFBM:D).
