How about a forum knife PM2 w/ HAP40 Burnt Orange G10 Acid Stone washed Blade

My nomination for a BF forum model would be a titanium scaled Delica with the laminated HAP40 blade just like the current sprint run's blade.

I nominate:

Lum Tanto folder

HAP40 SUS410 blade with a finish that accentuates the hamon

blue nishijin scales

That's a desirable knife, with an excellent steel, and blue scales for the forum colour.

Maybe skip the scales, blue is cool but those are too busy for me. It actually wouldn't matter because I missed out on the Lum tantos and I'd carry a pink one happily.

I don't like them either but they fit the theme of the knife and they're the forum colour. And they seem to be a popular feature.

Part of this is suppressing the urge to ask for something that's in too narrow a niche defined by what the designer or the group wants. These runs need to be made in a large quantity to be viable so that means they'll have sell beyond here.

OK, then how about my previous suggestion of a Ti-scale HAP40 Delica with the scales bead-blasted and anodized blue for the BF motif?

Close??

In all honesty, any PM2 sprint (non BBS) will sell out no problem. Maybe do the Caly 3/3.5 but I'd like something other than a lock back myself.

How about the new Denim G10 we've heard about, a HAP40 SUS410 Blade (so Japan) and for the knife itself; how about a Rock Lobster sprint?

A Para in HAP-40 is not a likely possibility. I think it would be a real hassle to try to pull off, especially for a sprint.

I truly love this steel and I am quite happy with having as many options as we do. Of course I would love even more models but I'm quite satisfied with the several that I have for now. I think I like the thinly ground Delica the best as I really love how this steel performs in a thin slicer. If I had to pick a sprint it would probably be a kitchen knife actually. :)

Has there ever been a volcano grip PM2?

That would be a must-have for all the PM2 collectors and might even bring the price down a little for the users.

Are any other foundries making equivalents in sheet stock though? CPM REX45 by any chance?

We could probably do more HAP-40 with our current Seki maker. He followed up our requests to use it. He learned the processing and heat treating for production and provided us with an entire line of affordable HAP-40 pieces. Nicely done, I would say.
