How about a forum knife PM2 w/ HAP40 Burnt Orange G10 Acid Stone washed Blade

If seki could magically do a caly 3 is solid hap40 that would be nice. But I think it was Moki that did those.

I can dream

HAP40 Jester sounds about right for a forum knife to me.

I would also be interested in a G10 HAP40 Dragonfly. Oh yeah!!!!!

I vote for Lum Tanto!!!

Large CaLypso with burnt orage g10 and polished hardware with hap40 steel. If we are dreaming

Where's RamZar when you need to compile a list?? :D

What are all of the current models manufactured in Seki City?
Any that are still relevant that they may also still have the tooling for, in hopes of a Sprint return?

We all need more HAP40 in our lives, and in as many models as possible! ;)

Many of the models that come to my mind are Moki models that I would love to see in HAP40...
Dunno why I'm blanking so hard at the moment...

Lil' Matriarch PE??

I would be doing backflips if it was a "R" with HAP40 and burnt orange g10. ;)

These would be cool too,

I am not into stonewashed blades at all and I am not sure what this would offer me over one of the two M4 Para2s coming out soon.

There are great American steels and great Japanese steels. Why can't we be content using the American steels in the American knives and the Japanese steels in the Japanese knives? I see the recent shippingof S30V to Japan as a giant loss to us as knife afis because it would appear as though we are not going to get to try as many of the Japanese steels as we could.

I agree in general with your sentiments, including the last sentence. However, there's not really a mid-range steel between VG-10 and ZDP-189/HAP-40(or none that I've seen in recent Spyderco knives). So if some S30V over there gets us more knives because they can send certain designs to the Japanese OEM that are better than VG-10. The new Firefly is a $200+ knife and a collaboration, and it has the same steel as knives 1/4 the price. That's not to say VG-10 is bad, but if I pay that much for a knife I expect a better steel than that. I don't think we lose anything if that Firefly were in S30V, and I'd bet ZDP/HAP would increase the cost even more(no thanks). If there were more Japanese steels on the knives, then the S30V would be replacing some of them. But as it is, I don't think it's going to do that except to upgrade from VG-10 and I'm not that attached to VG-10.

Well, I for one am rather devastated we will not see a HAP40 Caly.

So, how about HAP40 Ouroboros. That is one knife I will be rooting for to happen, whether it be a sprint or forum knife, etc! :)

I'd go for the Lum Tanto or PM2. Steel and Scale? Most anything that makes it a little different. Are there a certain number of knives we have commit to? Let's get this ball rolling!

We could probably do more HAP-40 with our current Seki maker. He followed up our requests to use it. He learned the processing and heat treating for production and provided us with an entire line of affordable HAP-40 pieces. Nicely done, I would say.

Sal, any chance we will someday see the Caly line in this steel?

I actually am already temped to get the PM2, just as it is. I wish there were more colorful scale options, but I have no interest in camo, so if it means getting yet another black G10 scaled knife, so be it.
I probably would not spring for a special edition for the forum.
