How about some EsKabar pics?

I've only had it a couple of days so just getting started on pics...there will be more later. I wrapped it today so better pics of that tomorrow maybe.

Hey Guyon, how does the Eskabar with scales compare to the Izula II in terms of handling?
I have the regular Izula with a paracord wrap and the Eskabar with scales. I like them both, but find myself wanting a bit more handle. But im not sure if the extra length makes that much a difference.

The handle makes a difference IMO. The EsKabar is a great knife, but as far as personal preferences go, I like the Izula II a little better in hand. However, the Izzy II seems like less of a necker and more like a small hunter.

I think this thread sealed the deal for me... my next purchase will be the 14 Thanks Guyon for the pics!

Yup, they look sweet and I have one on the way. I suppose I could check out plumbing supply houses or whatever to find some heavier sink drain chain. I don't know if I feel comfortable with it hanging from my neck on para cord. Not much of a rational reason for it, just creeps me out a bit. Bad memories of garroting chip munks in a previous life maybe.

Never hang a necker from just paracord. That way death lies. Take it from a long-time kayaker who sometimes wears a neck knife on the water.

I use break-away clasps made for cord necklaces. (Medical supply places seem to have them for nurses. I guess some patients get a little grabby.) Or you can often find them on the 'bay.

Or I take a piece of paracord, gut it, and feed some neck chain through the paracord. You get the best of both worlds that way. The paracord is comfy (and you have a little extra cordage on you), and the neck chain will break if pulled hard enough.

Here's a Fiddleback necker (Three-Finger Karda) with this sort of set-up...

rubber/plastic tubing with a spot of glue inside, feed the ends in. voila.

on the other hand, solid paracord, with some kind of lark'shead/cowhitch secured to a pack, or what not, means you will not lose the knife under almost any circumstances. it's hard to choke a pack out :)

or paracord cut and then melted together with a lighter... if pressed when hot you can get them to fuse pretty well... and it will break if needed.

As soon as I get mine it's getting up on here. I'm diggin' most of those cord wraps.

Here's mine, with the first wrap I gave it shortly after I got it:

Modified Strider wrap, strider on the outside with a conventional wrap underneath.
