How annoying is it not to have a knife on you?

As horrible that situation is, there is worse. Not pocketing my favorite new sharp toy, is annoying, but I keep something on every keychain, several in the car and at the office. So it would just be going without my anticipated flavor of the day. But....belting on your favorite holster, then getting distracted and not opening the EDC lock box, leaving the house with an empty holster .....now that's torture. [emoji51]

I never forget it just like my watch. They are always stored in my hat and I don't forget my hat.

It is very annoying for me. But I have a Leatherman Squirt on my key chain or at least one of them. Have knives in my field bag; actually quite an assortment, but if I forget my SAK, I feel like something is missing.

I seldom forget my knife...never...unless it's in a different pair of pants that I just changed. I really miss it. I'm planning on carrying a Spyderco Assist permanently in my car now, so that will take care of some of the problem.

It feels pretty much like when you reach for your keys or wallet and they're not there - instant anxiety.

I'm retired from a state Dept of Corrections. We weren't allowed to have even fingernail clippers on our key rings when we went through the gate. If going about your daily activities without your favorite knife causes you anxiety, try spending your entire working day, every day, locked inside with 3500 convicted felons.

This! I have to add my iPhone to the list though.

The other thing that puts me on edge is not wearing a wristwatch.

I feel naked without it when it's not allowed. I always have one when allowed though. In my bag, truck, at work, on my keys, and in my pocket. Just started leaving them everywhere.

It's a weird feeling not having one in pocket. I do keep one in the truck and on my backpack.

I can't not have a cutting tool of some sort. Even if it's just a cheap box cutter, I have a cumpulsive need to have a tool that cuts. I get a knot in my stomach when I fly. The worst is trying to explain it to my wife. It would be like her not having sunglasses (which she is obsessed with).

I've gone a few times through that...as a youngster. Horrible experience for me.

Now it's impossible for me not ot have a cutting implement of some sort (keychain SAK, other key set mini SAK, neck knife, wallet box cutter, backpocket Tasman Salt, coin pocket dragonfly, belt sheath multitool, car multitool, they all exist in my life now for that very reason of not feeling naked again)

And my Pac Salt remains clipped to my pants, in case I just grab them and put them on

Never forget 1 or 2 when leaving for work, I choose the night before. One of my joys is walking my 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd. He is such a pleasure we usually go on 1 - 2 hour jaunts. It doesn't matter how far away from home we are, if I reach for a blade and it's not there we ARE going back!! Nothing like happily flicking away and being prepared for vampire attacks!! Hey!!! Ya never know!!
Walking him without a blade just feels.......wrong???

Highly annoying. Knives are like umbrellas. When I have them, I don't need them. When I need them, I don't have them.

Forgetting to carry a knife is right up there with forgetting the cell phone or wrist watch for me. It doesn't happen often and I most notice it around home when I am not real busy. Without fail, if there is no knife in my pocket, I need it. Just a walk away, but inconvenient.

My EDC is a Vic Explorer Plus. Being a 4 layer it has a very reassuring heft that is always missed when not in my pocket. I don't mind leaving my phone and I can leave without my wallet and not notice until too late. I always notice when that knife isn't in my pocket.
