Baldric rig
Merc harness
neck rig?

lets discuss....

i have started using a modified merc harness for a few of my mid sized fixed blades i like the ease of availabilty and the fact it wouldnt get in my way or be inaccesable while sitting..

I like neckers... east ro get to when sitting easy to keeo out of sight around sheeple..lately I've been carryin my mini canadian in my pocket it's a really stout little pocket fixedblade..

Merc harness, one of these on each side....

I do it the complicated way: on the belt. What's wrong with that? :p

Granted, sometimes I attach one into my backpack's shoulder straps.

i was asking about other ways...i still carry one on my belt...usually the larger of the blades like the BK9 or my ADCAP Camp Fighter....but i dont want my belt area to become cluttered and i dont like neck knives all the time, i am paranoid about choking. yeah i still carry multiple folders, saks and spydies the such...but i also like a good midsized fixed to have handy too...my favorite right now is the Blind Horse Knives Workhorse....i love D2 steel.....

I usually just carry my fixed blades on my belt, but if I'm not wearing a belt for some reason then I like the merc harness style carry. I just tie up my own out of paracord so it doesn't have the ability to be easily adjusted like the ones you can buy, but it's not that hard to get it set so that you don't need to make any adjustments. The merc harness has the advantage of being easier to access (IMO) than belt wear, especially if you're sitting crouching or kneeling. I find it more comfortable than a necker (especially with larger knives), and it doesn't dangle and flop around as much. The only thing that i don't like much about the merc harness is that it requires two hands to re-sheath the knife.

Horizontal on the front of my left hip is by far my favorite and most common way. My Graham Bros knives go in a pocket like a folder and my huge knives go vertical on my right hip.

Outside of high-ride belt carry, I really like the MerHarness (550-cord/figure-8 setup) for a neck-sized knife. I've been using the heck out of a Fallkniven WM-1 with this set up.

The past 14+ months in a combat zone has steered me clear of low-riding knife sheaths (I did a lot of helo traveling) and neck knives. I do like a neck-mounted knife when around the camp, but I no longer prefer them for strenuous activity (climbing, hiking/backpacking, running, etc.).

my hiking/outdoor fixed blade is small enough that I simply carry it in my pocket, with a lanyard tied around my belt.

normark, i am really curious about the baldric rig as well...i have seen it a few times here...Doc Canada carries one when he canoes and i think K.Estela has one as well...i think its like a shoulder rig... i am really liking my modified merc type harness....it is so east to access and i dont have to worry about restricted motion as much

Gee, I must be behind the times. I just carry a fixed blade in a vertical sheath on my belt and a pocketknife in my pocket.

no you are right on time here fella....just looking at alternatives... and seeing how others carry knives.
