How do you carry your slipjoint?

I'm trying to find a way to carry my #23 and still have the convenience of some of the frequently used SAK tools.

22 -

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but AG makes a nice little belt sheath that fits the #23:

Always right front pocket, no exceptions.

Whatever my pocket knife of the day is, it gets dropped in that front pocket along with my Fenix E01 and one of the two bandanas I carry. Never carries. No matter what pants Ihave on, jeans, Dockers, dress pants, the bandana is loosely wadded up and shoved down on top of the knife. I have never lost a knife yet. Keys, change, tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, all go in the left pocket.

Always, always stuff that bandana down on top of your knife, and you will never loose it.

Carl.

Smithhammer, may need to look into that as well. At least it gives me another option and I have got used to carrying my cell phone in my shirt pocket mostly versus occupy a spot on my belt. I was sometimes ripping the cell phone off my belt when I slide into a car seat if I wasn't paying attention.

Then you've dashed my hopes of finding one, but I think you for your answer anyways :D Time to go browse through the Exchange.

Not to derail the thread, but GEC makes that one now as a production model with various other handle covers (I think it's called a saddle trapper?).

Keys in right front pocket, traditional in the left. If I add a OHO, then it clips into the right front cargo pocket, or the watch pocket if wearing jeans.

Either a Champlin #85 or #92 in left front, #15 Boys knife in right front (with large Sebbie) and an Alsdorf pearl equal end in watchpocket. Change/keys go in back pocket.

I have started carrying two slipjoints. My 15 single blade ebony Charlow goes in my right front pocket, my 73 Beaver Tail goes in my right back pocket. Wallet usually goes in my left back pocket, or left front cargo pocket of my cargo pants/shorts. My keys are on a carabiner cip, and go on my belt loop. My money clip and medicine bag go in my left front pocket. Cell phone goes in my right back pocket, or right cargo pocket. If I have a light on me, that usually goes in one of my cargo pockets.

My SNG or 53 Benchmade Marlowe go in my back pocket, or stay in the truck .

For me it depends on the size and the fit of my pants. Most often, they just go loose in the pocket. Some knives are uncomfortable for me when they lie sideways, though. Those ones go in a homemade suede slipcase to keep them vertical. If I'm carrying a knife with a bail or keyring, I'll sometimes hang them from a small s-biner on the edge of the pocket where a modern clipped one would sit. This allows it to hang securely but still be easily accessed with just a pinch on the biner. Worth a thousand words:

I have always carried mine in my right front pocket with my keys. They get a little scuffed up, but that just adds character. :)

Sometimes if I'm carrying a Peanut, I'll put it in the watch pocket.

I carry 3 3/4" or smaller Traditionals in my watch pocket (tip down, blade forward). Larger ones (4" - 4 1/4") go in one sheath or the other , in front of the port side belt loop of my Levi's (cross-draw) if I'm not carrying a fixed blade there; unless they are about 4 1/2" with a lanyard tube (GEC 23, Case BackPocket, Queen Mountain Man, etc.). Then they ride to the right of my wallet (carried in the right rear pocket) with a short lanyard (that has a standard lanyard knot) that just clears the top of that pocket. I normally carry one small and one large, in different arrangements.
I always have , in my lunch kit side pocket, a #9 Opinel, a Leatherman Micra and a DMT coarse-fine diamond sharpener.
That's what works for me.

Right front pocket along with my keys. I have only a car key and house key on the ring along with a fenix e01. Not worried about scratches. I can always get new keys.

Right front. Buck 703-A 2-spring. Really like the Columbia shorts with inset pocket.

I almost lost a knife when it slid out of my pocket. Luckily, I saw it in the chair before I walked away. After that, I started my search for a pouch to carry my knife in when not in jeans. (Watch pocket is great for my traditional carry!)
After trying various leather and zipper pouches, I discovered the $1.50 velvet pouch at gp knives. It "sticks" to the inside of your pocket and will stay in place with me doing everything short of standing on my head.

If its a small one, watch pocket, if larger front left or right, if dress pants, the pocket with the little pocket sewn in.

I would really enjoy discovering a simple way to secure a traditional to me or my pocket. A lanyard seems promising but not so many traditionals accept lanyards.

My earliest knives were slipjoints and as an avid tree climber I lost all of them and a few SAKs.
Perhaps I just need to stay upright... ;)

To answer the OP's question, right front, forever and always. Occasionally a backup in a cargo pocket.
