How do you carry your slipjoint?

I nearly always wear jeans. So my primary folder goes in the right front pocket with nothing else - to avoid it getting beat up by change, keys, etc. Often times I'll have my Pemberton in my watch pocket also.

Change (in a coin purse) and nail clippers in the left front pocket. Wallet in left rear. Leatherman on left side/belt sheath alongside a single-cell Streamlight in a belt sheath.

I do have a KSF pocket slip for certain folders, but my #55 or #85 just rides as-is w/out a slip.

I sort of resurrected this thread when I found it while doing a search. Actually I'll ask here as it's related...

Does anyone have any experience with the KSF "Horizon" horizontal sheath that rides on the belt? It looks really nice but would appreciate any input from end-users. I have their pocket slip and like it a lot. But the idea of a belt pouch is interesting to me also if it's secure and low profile.

This one?

Looks very unobtrusive, almost as if disguised as an eyeglasses case or something. Kinda neat.

YES! That's the one. Do you have this one? Any pics you have of the back side and interior also if possible (maybe even a pic with a knife it it!). Is it stiff/rigid or flexible in it's shape? The description says it has a soft liner sewn inside? How does it fix to the belt: a metal clip or a sewn-in belt loop? I like the "eye-glass" case appearance also. Very nice looking and a great idea.

Thanks!

Alas, it's not mine; I swiped that pic from the web.

(Give it a right-click, choose "Copy image location," then open a new tab/window and paste it in the address bar. Chop off everything after the ".com" to get to the site where it's hosted.)

I must say, I've liked the look of every single KSF sheath I've seen! :D

I really like their pocket slips with the clip on them. I have one and love it as it is perfect for carrying my #42 and would like another for a #72. KSF has not stocked them in awhile and sure hope they have more on order. Clip works on either belt or pocket which is my preference. Quite discreet.

I'll add to the topic by saying I carry my Case 3 7/8" pen in my right front jeans (what I wear most every waking hour) pocket along with keys or whatever else might be there. This 1977 knife has Delrin scales and is a user so I don't worry about keeping the bolsters scratch free. I keep an Alox Swiss Army Cadet in my left front pocket, along with a Fenix AAA flashlight and my very small wallet, for it's supplemental utility. I tried the Cadet - and a peanut at one time - in my watch pocket but found it to be a little 'in the way' and wearing on the pocket when my hand goes in and out of the big pocket.

I love the size of this larger Case pen I now have, and have found it to not be as obstrusive as I had originally imagined it might be, but I can't do without some of the things the Cadet does, hence a two-knife complement.

I don't doubt the ergonomics and habits of a daily-use knife routine are very personal, and are most likely dictated by the type of jobs different folks have, the type of tasks they have to perform, what they wear each day, knife size and style preferences, etc., etc., but I think for a jeans-wearing remodeler like myself my knives are more like tools than anything. I still want them to have a certain tradtional appeal - that's why I chose them and I do take care of them - but I don't really distinguish between users and show knives.

I just got a KSF "Main ST" slip and rotate some old Schrade stockmans or various RR's in my lfp.
I'm new to this forum and after resurrecting my knife hobby with a bunch of modern folders just a few months ago I've discoverd this Traditionals group
and realise this is where my heart is. Lot of good reading here, thanks.

I had the belt sheath from KSF for about a day. I bought the one for a large folder. To me it was too large to be worn comfortably; not horizontally but depth wise. Just stood out too much from my side.

But, on the bright side, KSF was great at accepting a return.

At work I have a Old Timer 80T or a Case peanut in my right front pocket. Away from work there is usually the Case or OT in the right front with keys, and change. In the left front, one of the nicer knives like my Gary Crowder trapper. One for rougher stuff, one for fruit or what have you. One knife at work. More than one when I am away. Except Sunday go to meeting clothes get just one of the nicer ones in rotation.

As in most cases, it depends; with jeans I use a belt sheath for anything >3-3/4". With khakis I go with a pocket sheath. In both cases the SAK goes in the left pocket with keys & assorted stuff. Down here we wear fishing shirts (usually Columbia) with vented back, roll up sleeves and an assortment of pockets in the front. The right hand lower pocket is perfect for a swayback, peanut & even a small SAK or stockman. The advantage is it is accessible at any time, riding, driving or sitting behind a desk. Kind of like how a cowboy pulls a pouch of Bull Durham out of his shirt while still mounted. Very convenient.

I carry my Benchmade 319 Proper slipjoints in a small Velcro pouch, mounted horizontally on my right side just above the coin pocket.

My knives get carried in my right front pocket inside a leather slipcase my wife makes for me.

Kind of an old thread and a much asked question with a bit of a different twist.
Here's my preferred carry method. A 3.5 - 4" slip-joint in a horizontal belt sheath on my right side. A peanut sized knife in the fabric sheath, sharing the left pocket with my smart phone. Works for me!
