How do you justify a knife that expensive???

I tell people it's like buying a corvette, except the dealer says to take it to the nearby demolition Derby and if you tear it up, they'll fix it for free. Then you go win that Derby, with only a few minor scratches in the paint.

I have to give credit where it's due. That's pretty damn awesome.

That's about as logical as can be.

Contestant- What is: "Hitting the nail on the head?"

Alex- Correct!

Contestant- I'll take "littlehoots analogy describing busse combat blade appeal" for $500 Alex

I aways just say knives in general are my thing. Everyone has that one thing they would spend stupid money for. Trips, concerts, cars. I like knives, and Busse are my favorite fixed blades.

How else am I supposed to chop frying pans, bulldozer engine guards, excavator mufflers and steel pipes into pieces???????

I just say "Get back to me a few months into the apocalypse" ....they normally just shake their heads

INFI is one of the finest knife steels ever invented and it's worth price asked.

I justify it because I CAN!!! Members buy the Battle Grade models for their price and performance, and in general because they either don't want to or cannot afford to spend a certain amount on the Real McCoy, Understandable, 20 years or so ago I could not afford Satin INFI! I can know though and I like it-ALOT!!! Status has nothing to do with it period-If someone wants to look at my knives-fine, I will be more than happy to show them! Really in the end it comes down to personal choice. I really could care less what anybody thinks about the knife's I purchase-Cheers!!

Like the other guy said , it Makes chopping, opening mail, and everything more fun lol
Also i like Busse.... alot lol and in general try to buy the best Gear I can afford, not just knives, flashlights, boots..,ect
The others can Carry a Backpack full of Big-5 Knives, cuzz theyre on sale....if thats Ur thing lol

I find new ways to use my collection around the house, damned if it isn't fun! (Though the neighbors likely think I'm insane...) Besides the obvious perks of INFI goodness as far as quality and toughness goes, the knives tend to hold value, and aren't terribly hard to offload if one has to.

Biggest two reasons I will always be an unabashed Busse fanboy- The community around them. I loved my time at BLADE this year, and meeting a bunch of hogs, some who pointed me in the direction of some knives I'd been looking for, etc. and were just generally Good people!

The company as a whole- between the warranty (That I don't think I'll ever get a chance to test...) and the support they show the customer, I am just continuously impressed with the Busse family.

And last time I justified my Busse- I just stabbed it into some sheet metal at the range... with no edge deformation. Apocalypse tough.

People always think that you should be able to justify everything you do. Everything is criticized and made to be negative.

I do what i do because it makes sense to me. I dont have to justify anything to anyone......other than the wife of course...and i hide it from her. 😂

The only time I have a hard time justifying a purchase of something I want is if I know they are price gouging you! There is a certain guy who sells on that one site I refuse to buy from.

Since I got into custom folders, I've learned that gouging can be very prevalent. But even still, I will sometimes just bite the bullet because it is something unique (my MOASS) or hard to find as long as it's not unreasonable, but we Each have different thresholds on what is unreasonable.

Hell I watch a knife auction off and go for $10k. There is no way! I could buy a katana with a pedigree back 500 years for that!

My wife made a comment a couple days ago on how she doesn't think I really pay what I say for knives.

All I have to say, if I die and my wife gets on here selling my stuff, don't let her sell them for what I told her I paid for em!!! [emoji51]

I have a specific CC for knives that has a really low rate. Allows me to get any that I want from OP2W

I just tell My Wife I invest in precious metals...... lol Just dont tell Her its INFI lol

I agree with your list for the most part.. however, to me at least, it's all of the above that make it fun and your personal enjoyment is what makes those those things important. I "enjoy" wailing on a blade I know is abnormally tough an indestructible. I "enjoy" the fact that the my blade is rare an I won't see 10 of at shot show...
You go camping for "enjoyment"...I'm just saying when you invest in a Busse, all the things you use it for become fun to do...its not "uuhg...gotta go find some firewood"..its "oh yaa!....here comes the mistress..Who's going with me!!??"
