How do you justify a knife that expensive???

I just tell My Wife I invest in precious metals...... lol Just dont tell Her its INFI lol

Ya ......in a collapse..its not the kind of previous metal that you trade in a barter...its a precious metal that more or less "convinces" the other party to "donate" the items you need...hehe.. jk

Or, In the case of the WTF, convince Thor to take up carpentry

I hear that now an then, "you could buy two of this other knife an buy 3 replacements thereafter" is the argument I heard yesterday..I ended up thinking about it for a while after..after all I found it very easy to justify..an even easier the more I got.. tho the strength, toughness, quality, an warranty are reason enough, It dawned on me that the best part is that every tasks from opening mail to buttoning logs in the forest, become fun as hell!.. it changes the whole aspect of doing work.. its a lot more than an expensive strong knife.

Replacing an inexpensive knife is easy, until it isn't; and that is when you most wish you had gone with the better knife.

same..

I justify it because I CAN!!! Members buy the Battle Grade models for their price and performance, and in general because they either don't want to or cannot afford to spend a certain amount on the Real McCoy, Understandable, 20 years or so ago I could not afford Satin INFI! I can know though and I like it-ALOT!!! Status has nothing to do with it period-If someone wants to look at my knives-fine, I will be more than happy to show them! Really in the end it comes down to personal choice. I really could care less what anybody thinks about the knife's I purchase-Cheers!!

I think they're awesome. .....

After being broke as heck when I was younger and trying to get by with the cheap crap (not just knives) I could actually afford, I got into the mindset of buy once, cry once. Life is just much easier with stuff that doesn't fail when you need it. If money isn't supposed to make your life easier, then what is it useful for?

Simple really...

We allways does what the Precious says.
The Precious says "buy me friends!"

Yes, my Precious! :D

I aways just say knives in general are my thing. Everyone has that one thing they would spend stupid money for. Trips, concerts, cars. I like knives, and Busse are my favorite fixed blades.

A little bit of this...

People always think that you should be able to justify everything you do. Everything is criticized and made to be negative.

I do what i do because it makes sense to me. I dont have to justify anything to anyone......other than the wife of course...and i hide it from her. 😂

... and quite a bit of this.

Additionally... I started with a Ratmandu, and after so many years of buying knives looking for the perfect one, I found the one closest that I had ever found. And then I thought, "Maybe INFI would actually be better," so I bought an INFImandu on the exchange. Was initially underwhelmed with it… until I wailed on it a bit battoning. And suddenly I was at, "Wow! This stuff is good! And I was hooked.

Then I received a couple of O2W knives, and found how good the grip-designs of the Busse knives are, and was hooked even harder.

I've about given up on all other knives, except one or two customs, and one rather one-dimensional brand. Most of the reasons on the list don't apply to me, as I largely, to exclusively, buy my tools and toys based on what I'm doing with them. I shoot Glocks more than anything else, because I started shooting Glocks more than anything else when there wasn't much else that was that light or reliable. Now I continue to shoot them exclusively because they do what I need done in a firearm, and my hand has become accustomed to that shape to the point nothing else works as well for me whether it is more or less expensive, or more aesthetically pleasing or not (nothing is less aesthetically pleasing than a Glock-- ugliest da** pistol made nowadays). But I really just don't let many people (any) know what I carry or how much it costs. They might know themselves if they are part of the addiction. But otherwise, it's just none of their business.

They are fun.

I've owned few INFI, only about 13 or so over the years. I'm down to a KZII, and a Rattle hawk. Waiting on the BG WTF. If they had offered a CG version, I likely would have went that route. The SR101 is fantastic, in all areas, except for the corrosion resistance of INFI.

The FBMLE was my first, and was super impressed. I'm still sad I sold that one. Wicked convex, custom un-sharpened clip and hand smoothed micarta done by Bill Siegle.

I'm kind of bummed I passed on the B13, as well, but I have limited funds.

Could I buy a bunch of Kabars for the price of one TGLB? Certainly I could. But if I break one of them on a backwoods trip, what are the odds that I brought a spare one to take its place? Zero.

Heck. While we'really at it, instead of a few Kabars vs the TGLB, why not get four times as many junk Chinese knives and use them like disposable razors?
