Recommendation? How do you keep the pants bill down?

You guys make me wonder what kinda pants you buy? You guys wearing those new jeggings tight thin pants or what? I have done construction hardcore in my jeans and it takes about three years to wear them out. Crawling on the ground, under houses, on shingle roofs day after day, etc and they dont even have holes in them. I cant imagine a knife wears a pocket of your pants ourlt enough that its a worry. Buy regular manly jeans and dont worry about it.

Mostly Levis.

i dont know what kinda animal carries a folder in their back pocket ;)

I haven't had much issue with pockets wearing out due to knives. Mostly I wear duluth work pants or wrangler carpenter jeans, but my knives are generally smooth CF or metal. i haven't carried any micarta or G10 enough to have an issue.

I did have an accessory pocket, on the outside of the cargo pocket, duluth firehose, start to show some wear, but had them replaced due busting a seam prior to any real issue. that was after almost a year of hard wearing them too.

For me the crotch always wears down way before the pockets are worn out. Even with me taking my knife in and out of the pocket 50 times a day.

Downside to squats...

1. Sierra Trading Post - because I never buy at retail, and 2. no pocket clips.

Orvis makes pants with a leather trim on the pockets. Willis & Geiger used to. Duluth and Filson last pretty good, as do Carhartt.

Instagram - the den of hipsters - is now showing pocket slips with knives in them with pocket slips. You know, that you can make drawing slower and add more bulk to your pocket? Maybe that could be another idea! :D

Or perhaps titanium spydie with wire clip?

I wear basically exclusively Levi's, and yes the pockets get eaten. It doesn't bother me as much on the weekends but I wear jeans to work and can't have a bird's next hanging off the edge of my pocket :D
