I had a guy contact me selling me his little bit used BM51. He showed me pic, and gave me his Paypal and I payed him. He messaged me yesterday saying he got the money and was gonna ship today. I replied four hours ago asking if he shipped it, and if doesn't reply by tomorrow morning I'm gonna get really worried. Did I do this deal wrong? This is my first time attempting to buy a knife from forums, do people get scammed sometimes with no hope of getting their money back?

Be patient, people work, live in different time zones etc. :D I don't think it's uncommon to wait overnight or so...

People hear about other scamming them on forums all the time. However, this one is much different. The people here are far more classier than what I've noticed from forums regarding other topics. You should have no worries, he probably just hasn't gotten around to replying yet.

^^^What these guys said. Give it a few more days before you start worrying. :)

Dude, calm down. People have lives other then checking there email and bf 24/7, and it may take some time to get back to you. Also, after he says he shipped it, do not get worried if he does not reply after he tells you he shipped it.

No worry, since you paid by PayPal, but it's way too early to worry. No everybody is plugged into the Internet 24/7. Sometimes my net access goes down for a day or so and I can't communicate...doesn't make me a scammer.

No need to worry yet, usually I give 5 days or so before sending a "whats going on?" email, Stuff happens, cars get flats, family members need help, etc.

Don't check the tracking updates every hour, that gives even the toughest knife nut ulcers.

Take a deep breath and relax. If he just wanted your money, he would have not replied saying he got your cash. Be logical, and realistic.

Wait. People have all kinds of things going on in their lives. Weather, kids, deaths, work etc. I'd cut him 72 hours of slack.

Well, did you check the person's track record before dealing with him? I usually tend to deal with people with some feedback or reputation (it's not a 100% indicator, but you get a sense of the person).

Either way, it's way too early to start worrying. I usually wait 2-3 days before I start getting worried or sending out messages. I usually wait until the expected delivery date. If it's not in my hands by then, then I start taking action.

I actually did get scammed here once, but I would agree that this is one of the safest places. Unfortunately, its hard to keep all the scum out (but the mods do a great job trying!). Like everyone said...give him some time before you get too worked up. If it does end up being a scam...contact paypal about it. They will most likely refund your money.

I've bought a lot off of the forum and never got scammed. but that said, I buy from people I've talked to for years on here for the most part. I'm a pretty paranoid guy in some ways.

I'm worried because I didn't buy it from this forum. I bought it from a guy at http://brokenbrains.us Here is his profile and you can see his TOTAL four posts http://www.brokenbrains.us/arena/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2679 But if you read his posts it makes him seem legit. The real reason I'm worried is because of this.

The seller
"Where do you live?
USA or somewhere else?

thinking whos near he get's it"

I was competing with one other guy. Now what scares me is on Paypal, it says he is Non-US - Unverified Should I still not be worried?

So a guy contacted YOU on ANOTHER FORUM to sell his knife, he is a NON US citizen and UNVERIFIED  by PayPal and you're asking us if you should be worried??

Did he ask you for your SSID too? :D
