How do you pick which knives to get rid of?

First off, I never sold a knife I own. Considered it, but I am just not motivated to try to sell any of them.

The new ones usually are out and about visible to me to fondle and perhaps use. After they get replaced with a new batch and I find myself not even looking at them anymore, I place them inside a Rubbermaid tub (actually several) or I keep a number in smaller plastic boxes that stack easily. Every now and then, I'll dig through what's in the tub and look at them. But they usually go back into the tub unless I plan to use them.

That's how I deal with knives that I have little interest in anymore. The cost is irrevelant at that point to me as it is water under the bridge. So I don't pick or choose to get rid of any knives. There's no mental turmoil. They can eventually go to the landfill when I croak.

I'm starting to feel more like this. All my bills are paid. It's not hurting anyone one. I think I'll just keep them. Thanks 22

If I haven't carried the knife within the last year, I'll probably sell it or trade it.
