How Good Is 1/16 O-1? Do you want to find out?

The Wag is here, the Wag is here!
Gally Wag that is.:D
Thank you for the chance to check it out Mack, even if we didn't get to do a hand off.(some day though)
I'm likin' the Ebony.I actually thought it was micarta until I put my reading glasses on.
I was surprised that the Ebony shrank, very slightly, but I can just barely feel the tang around the handle.
Just goes to show how traveling from one part of the country to another & the resultant climate change will affect wood, even one as dense as Ebony.

Anyhoo I hope to be makin' some Chicken Fried Rice this weekend & will post pics if I can motivate myself to actually cook something.(me hates to cook, but loves to eat & there isn't a good purveyor of Chicken Fried Rice in my hood...that I've found yet.)

Thanks again for the opportunity to dirty up your pretty knife Mack,I do believe it's going to perform flawlessly on the Chicken,Carrots & Scallions.

Anybody else want to get in on this?

It's a great knife design - and a great chance to try the thin 01 steel!

best

It has made it's way to Unit's house. Thanks for getting this started Myke.

Ken (Unit) has been playing with it. I hope none of you get careless and cut off any fingers or other important appendages.

I love the design. I have my eyes on a Spyderco Southfork and this looks very similar. I want to try it out but I know I don't have time. In fact I am stuck in another wonderful Marriott again as I write this. I think I'll follow the thread and if it starts running short on people I'll jump in as my next time home for more than a few days is August.

We'll see what happens. I know how it is not getting home and being able to do normal things.

In like Flynn! :D
You're on the list.

Made some guac and fajitas tonight after working the edge up to a nice polish.

It worked pretty well, though not the ideal geometry for this task. The results look pretty good. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366932237.753147.jpg

The patina is coming along nicely also.

PM your address to me.

I'll play with it a bit this weekend as I celebrate with my family, then I'll ship it to you Monday.

okay, didn't mean to rush you if I did though, no hurry, :)

thanks

Those fajitas look great. Can you send them along with the knife?:D
Thanks Ken. That edge looks wicked.

Nope, not rushing me. I have had it for a few days and spent some quality time with it on the hones. I might hone it again before sending it off...or I might not...half of the fun with this knife is how easily one can restore the keenness of the edge with a bit of stropping. .

That is fantastic to hear. If I can maintain an edge like that with my strops I'll be one happy dude.

Thanks for the pictures, Ken!

I love fajitas, and they are a good way to put your knives to good use!

Do you marinate your steak / chicken in anything before making them?

best
