Some makers will buy hundreds or thousands of pounds of steel. You can find some threads in their section of BF and see pictures of pallets and piles of stock in their shops.
 
Wow! Lots of good info here. I think I will play with a few steels posted here. I may even order a Busse to see this INFI steel everyone is talking about.
