How is everybody?...

Hey Colonel.......

Not having a "boss" to answer to is a real blessing.........Especially in times like these........Been A very late morning here...I even had enough wood in the house that I did not have to take three steps out the door......... We are at +16 headed to +9 and then things get good....... We are very lucky here..... Be safe Sir.........

All Best.....

Ethan

It finally got up to 9 degrees today! It was a low of 8 deg the last couple days, so it's an improvement. Now if the school corporation would grow a pair and open up the damned schools. The kids have been stuck in the house all week. Glad all is well on Becker Mt. boss.

Hey Murph.......

Feeling a bit caged in?........ With your energy levels you must be going absolutely bonkers..... Remember, the greatest of all warriors The Great Khan Genghis picked patience as the greatest of virtues....... Of course if HE had been patient even the neighbors wouldn't remember him.....

I hope you were not offended by my characterization of The Great Khan as the greatest of all over General Lewis Burwell Puller, USMC..........LOL......

Soon relief will come.....

Semper Fi, Chesty& Sergeant Major Daly.
Ethan, thank you for thinking of us. Here in Neb looks like the worst of it is pasted. Got up to about 25 today.

We already had two weeks of negative 12-18 degrees in December. But since then it has warmed up here in Northeastern California (near Reno, NV). I wouldn't say it is global warming the last couple of years. But it sure has been dry! Way too dry!!
P.S. There is nothing better then wood heat when it gets cold. Stay warm everyone!

Not very good. Am having to decide between knives, gun parts, and new clothes with some money I saved up. (sucks bein 16 huh?). Also have a report due Friday that I'm NOT prepared for. Did you guys know Chicago (The city with the most gun restrictions in America, I think) has the highest murder rate in the country? 500! More than one a day! Baffling. BTW it's 39 degrees where I'm at :).

- 40F with the wind chill here. No worries though, I drive a Dodge Power Wagon, have 3 generators (one 5500XL Generac = LOUD, & 2 Honda Eu2000i w/parallel power kit = QUIET & fuel sippers) & 25 gal of gas, lots of food. Kids are home & safe. Me & the wife gotta work though. Hell, I AM a Beckerhead after all------aint we sposed' to be prepared ???

-32 wood furnace is running, very quiet weather here for the past few days, cold, little wind and lots of sunshine. Good weather to be out in the bush, and only need hard wax for the skis.

Just saw on the news it's 8F at the north pole. Weird weather indeed.

Wife freaked a little last night when she realized we had no running water. Oh great, a frozen/burst pipe... Luckily for us, it was the main down the street that broke, and the city already has it fixed. Whew!

so it was -14 on Monday.
supposed to be an ice storm Thursday night/Friday morning, and the forecast is calling for 50 and bright sun on Saturday while I'm in Western Ks deer hunting.

Hey Vik......

Mayhap the deerskins will be damn hungry and careless after the brrrrrrrrrr........ Hope you get a big'un......

the weather has been cold, but not as cold as many have... no more than -10 dF, many days in the single digits. not much snow. even compared to last year.

no power loss, no issues, other than boredom, and work stress... knock on wood...

luckily im in ca so its all good, been thinking of you folks affected by the cold snap tho

Relief did arrive eventually, about mid week they returned to school. They didn't like me cheering them on as they got on the bus though.

Oh no, Khaaaaaannnnnn! Well, he was a brilliant and ruthless leader, I'll abide. However, Puller would've put him in check for sure. Mattis is the best General we've had in a long time, I'm proud to have served under his command.

Hope all you folks getting the winter storms & cold are making it ok. We're wishin' we could get some rain here in CA. It's gonna be a rough summer if things don't start getting damp around here. (A friend of mine is on a local fire crew, and his wife is in a serious snit right now, thinking about how this next fire season is going to play out. We're not looking forward to it at all.)
