How is this even possible

An average Chinese factory worker will make less than $200 USD a month.
A sales account rep makes about $800 a month with bonuses.
Workers live in small one room apartments about the size of a closet and pay for the privilege while they work in the city. US prison cells are bigger.
The Government controls all industry, and has their fingers in everything.
Those workers will never escape their lives.
Exploited doesn't even begin to describe their situation.

Please provide documentation for this. I have no doubt that the worker there is under very bad conditions compared to ours (USA) but I have no personal knowledge of those conditions. The Jingoistic rhetoric you exhibit is not helpful and does not address the totality of how the VERY inexpensive prices are achieved. The FACT is that many factors are involved in inter country commerce. I don't like all that goes on in the world, but I do NOT want to cut off the only income some people have just because I have more.

If you spend some time in Asia you know this is absolutely possible. It would not surprise me at all to walk around a corner and see a garage full of men and women making those knives. Or anything else Americans will pay for.

You are a knife maker. That's the kind of stuff you are competing against. It is something I wouldn't touch with my money especially on fleabay.

The guy buying that POS is not the guy ordering a knife from a custom knife maker. No competition there.

I wouldn't waste my time selling 2.00 profit items, it takes far too much time to box, pack, label and ship. The rule of diminishing returns applies here. Even if you got all packing supplies for free you would be lucky to make a few bucks per hour.

It's all profit if you don't ship the knife. A certain percentage of buyers won't bother to file a claim for just a few dollars.

View attachment 1091723 View attachment 1091725 And to think ive been wasting money on quality knives all this time lol!

I actually ordered an "automat" hiking camping tactical knife once from there for i think $8 shipped just to see what id get. A month later a little automatic knife showed up made of "professional high grade stainless steel!" It actually does work surprisingly but obviously is a novelty at best and far from safe with ridiculous blade play everywhere. Check out that hardware and blade centering!! Behold and bask in all its glory!

Documentation?
Are you serious?
It's not a secret.
Ever do actual business with a Chinese manufacturer?
Obviously not.

Well, I have.

Educate yourself.
Just live chat with any sales rep there and they will happily explain how it works.

You are thinking small time.
If your operation is only costing $2 to ship and sell, at $4 you are doubling your investment.
If you sell 100k units per year you are making $200k profit.
USD goes alot farther in China than it does in California.

Like former member Uoykcuf?

Not sure. Don't remember that one. Seem to remember some guy who kept doing it with machetes...forget his name.

Anyway, is this price possible? Yes.
How is it possible? Because there is profit in it.
Are Chinese makers driven by only profit? Yes.

Don't need an economics degree to figure it out.

I was looking at fixed blades on the Ebay and this came up. I'm sure its crappy material but still. That cheap with free shipping and a sheath. .

So after shipping and fees they will make 2 bucks if that. Wow

I'm fairly certain at this price they're just selling a picture of a knife and a sheath. The profit margin is sick.
